I think the point we are making is that your starting center used to be a long snapper, or backup lineman. Now teams have to use a roster spot on someone who is very specialized, and usually doesn't play anything but ST on the kicking side. Drescher, for example, was not on the return teams.
Good catch. I meant the punter is chasing the ball over his head. The thing is a long snapper has more chance of messing up than a shot gun snap which is much shorter.jmho

Well, I can't say this battle will be riveting, but the fact we have three options trying out starting next weekend and in light of what happened last season and that we have a new ST coordinator, it'll be important...

Question is: Will SP micromanage or trust his new hire to make the right call?

You guys wanna complain about Payton micromanaging everything but yet when something goes wrong he gets the blame for it. Do ya want him to make sure things are done right are don't ya? Can't have it both ways.
