Now that the NFL draft is done, let's have an early look at what the 2017 New Orleans Saints opening day roster may look like.

Over the last two months, the New Orleans Saints have added eight free agents, seven new draft choices, and a dozen undrafted college free agents to a roster that has gone 7-9 for three years in a row. Between now and the time training camp begins in late July, NFL teams will have some opportunity to further tweak their rosters. Most notably, after June 1, when there will be a number of veterans released due to salary cap reasons.

ok. Im excited. I dont know, maybe something's wrong with me.
I mean, Michael Thomas could go down, and then we all go down in flames...

But seriously, folks, I dont know... I love baseball, and I'll be following it... will prob. catch some basketball playoffs on the tube, and hockey is good too... but even in May, im thinking about the next Saints season, and have been since 1982. Before the internet, there was Athlon's Pro Football, and I was there in june to buy my copy, and drool over it for two months before preseason. I love June football talk. I love training camp. And I love preseason. Hell, I love LIFE, and thats what makes me me.

Does this writer even watch the Saints? He's got players listed that are free agents.

No understanding of the Saints O-line rotation; Kelemete could be very busy in scheme and Turner has no versatility.

Rose is completely off on the WR talent; the more I think about it, if Dural shows sure hands, he could be the fourth best WR when camp breaks.

And shows no appreciation of Stupar's value to this LBing corps and more faith in Ellerbe staying healthy than anyone who follows the Saints.

Starting from the top, I think they are correct on QB and RB. Recivers..I think Dural makes it (or it could just be my LSU homerism :lol:), OL is mostly right with the exception that I think Allen makes it on the team. DL I think Tapp makes it and Muhammed will be placed on practice squad. LB is where things start to get tough to choose atm. Out of those choices, I think Stupar stays and Feeney goes. DB..Swann gets cut over some guy named Gaitor..I doubt it. If Swann is 100% and that makes it through camp healthy, he is on the team. Safeties I am good with plus I think Keo is already cut..no?

Well it doesn't mention the recent injuries so the article must have been written some time ago. That and it doesn't mention Maulet on the backend. I am interested in seeing him come camp and preseason. Hopefully lives up to the hype. The fear of the mounting injuries is that we haven't even hit camp or preseason yet. I have doubts Unger will be back according to the timeline given simply because the original timeline was earlier and got pushed back. If he is great- fingers crossed. Have to hope Sheldon and Ony coupled with McDaniel can get it done. Will be interesting to see what Davidson can give this season. I am wondering what Kikaha can give us.
