From what Ive heard he killed 3 players on contact last year. Eats kittens and plays golf with baby seals as the ball on his off time. His hobbies include mixing concrete in his stomach, going back in the past to change the vietnam outcome, and Ballroom dancing.

Love when he plays for a contract.

#1 worry is his play when he gets that contract.

Sit back and pray the desire out weighs the wallet.

I still want to see improvement in these areas at the DT position. It killed us last year and the reason

We need a double teaming, space eating 43NT to step up to free up our 43DT, which both Nick and Rankins are.

No position on defense is as exposed as the DT in a 43. They are the corner stone on which all the others built on. Improved DE play is not going to help a DT. Improved 43DT plays has a trickle down effect on every position of a 43 defense.

Some of the none glamor stats i view as more important for DL evaluation

Defensive Hurries huge penetration stat, pocket push to get the QB off their spot. the key pansy Cam stat lol.

I would argue Fairley has had to sit behind a "better" player most of his career. When he would come on the field at the same time, he would have to play a different position than the 3 tech you saw him here with the Saints. We are certainly a better defense with him than without. You can never have enough playmakers on either side of the ball. Get the defense where it needs to be before Drew is done.

I've seen nothing that would cause me to think Nick would pull a Haynesworth on us + he wants to be in New Orleans.

DTs who can put up 6.5 sacks and be 2nd in pressures on a team do not grow on trees. Those are rare.

Nick had 5.5 sacks and 6.0 sacks for the Lions, neither in contract years.
