But also keep this into perspective. Players excell in the Saints system because they fit it. When players leave they it generally doesn't turn out as well for them. Their best years usually end up the ones they spent with us. The one WR I can't think of right was good with us left and was a complete bus then comes back and is good again.

Unless they are on defense like Hicks, Jenkins, and even PRob

Doesn't matter if it was private or broadcast nationwide. He said it.

Maybe he regretted it - maybe not. I'll never know because he didn't elaborate publicly.

He sure did seem awfully happy to get out of town tho...

No. Actually Graham was pretty disappointed he was out of town. As was Brees.

JMO - Jimmy Graham's hardship and broken family life has been well documented; he was absolutely the most loved player during his time here - even as much as Drew. Can not for one second believe he was glad to leave his first real loving home...

Have no doubt Graham was taken aback when the Saints told him he wasn't going to get paid what he wanted long-term by the Saints and that 180° reality check trade was a tremendous blow to the coddled-enabled professional athlete's ego...

And once the trade was made official, it probably took the first full season away for the reality of NFL business and his personal reality to settle in and it absolutely rocked him to his core as he's been a shell of the former player he once was...

I'd never not want us to sign talent with a great team attitude and good personal, non-distracting personality, but I can't help but wonder what complications and residual feelings would be there if Graham returned...

Exactly. He said it.
And what reasonable person could possibly misinterpret that as anything less than derogatory towards the team?

Oh, and he's 31 and will probably still expects 8 million a year. Pass

Meh ...

I'd be elated if the Saints FO contacted Larry Fitzgerald's agent before the trade deadline.

We have an overpaid TE who can't catch on the roster already.

Is there room for another??

Now that would be HUGE and make the Saints a deep threat in the playoffs...

Sean struggled for at least a week by his account on the trade so he obviously values Graham in his offense. If we could have addressed the center position 1-2 seasons before (Olin Kreutz?) he'd still be here. He would not be our #1 like he was IMO however, having him running through the middle of the defense would have to be respected and would take defensive pressure off of the other weapons. I doubt the Saints have any kind of "ban" on bringing him back.

Go for both?

Payton wanted Unger badly. The original offer included Kenny Stills, but Seattle insisted that Graham was the only player they would consider. Still was moved to Miami soon after. I really don't think anyone wanted Graham gone, including Graham.
