If you're positive, put your money where your mouth is and state you expect them to make the SB
I expect them to make the Super Bowl every year. What is wrong with that? I am a fan of the NFL in general and a fan of the Saints in particular because I enjoy being entertained. Trying to look for negatives is counterproductive to being entertained. What does a person gain from looking at anything but the best in a situation pertaining to a game that is played to entertain the viewing public?

Seriously.

Instead, New Orleans has failed in every way to surround him with a roster capable of contending in the NFC.
So, you are saying the current roster is doomed to fail? Forget the past. Look ahead. And, yes, father time does catch up with everyone. It is just that he is likely not to catch up with Brees until his mid 40's.

Nothing, but where you "expect" I hope and evaluate realistically where the team is at. We are definitely more talented right now and headed in the right direction. Sometimes (and this my opin of 06) it is more important that you win than anything else. Winning somehow breeds winning, and losing somehow does the same thing. So I'd like to see us win a few games early instead of this 0-2 or 0-4 **** SP and the team has provided recently.

You gain being realistic, if all you do is polish **** sandwiches all day people will keep handing you a **** sandwich. But if you evaluate the **** sandwich and see how you can improve it maybe in a few years you're eating an angus burger. Like I said, just putting a positive spin on everything does nothing, absolutely nothing. There is a slow movement to stop that because companies are finding nothing is improving and everyone is scared to face the difficulties the company faces. Complaining is different than being honest. I am just not going to run around and be full of crap because it is positive and I can pretend I live at willy wonkas house and my **** sandwich is good.

Your team stinks

If you were the GM of the team your logic may be correct. But, just like me, you are nothing but a fan and have no ability to ever affect the success of the team. A fan can analyse day and night and it will never change anything. While you may only have a **** sandwich, I have that angus burger already because I glean as much positive entertainment value out of the game as I possibly can. NOT putting a positive spin on everything as a fan does nothing, absolutely nothing. Since being critical, or negative, as a fan has no more of an impact on the final outcome than being positive, I choose the healthier approach of positive thinking.

You are only spinning your wheels, pissing into the wind, et cetera, thinking that you can ever change your **** sandwich into anything else if you feel you truly have a **** sandwich.

Not true. Coaches are fired due to fans, lose enough and lose your job.

Oh that just means you accept losing and eat it and enjoy, that sucks bro.

Being honest, huge difference, and again coaches lose their job when the fan gets loud enough.

Let's just pretend that as a fan I have no way to change anything, completely wrong (it may be indirect), but sure I will play, doesn't mean I need to eat that **** sandwich with you and pretend I am eating an angus burger. This isn't shallow hal and we're ****ing fatties pretending they're hott, lmao. I mean by all means enjoy yourself while you do.

Sean been losing a lot lately and a whole ton of people have been losing their job. They call that recognizing your ass is going soon too if you keep on losing, and it is I am healthier than you boss so being critical is completely acceptable and beneficial.

Your team stinks

You suffer from a grossly inflated image of self-worth as a fan. You have zero impact. Nothing. Zip. Nada. No fan, or group of fans, have ever cost any coach a job, nor have they had any tangible impact on any meaningful decision concerning any NFL franchise.

I now understand your angst. You are living under the illusion that you can somehow guide the direction of the team that you love by personally working harder to come up with solutions to their problems. You have nothing to look forward to but further frustration because your solutions are never applied by those who truly make those decisions.

Funny how I never have envisioned **** sandwiches, yet you are seemingly obsessed with the analogy. Perspective means so much in attitude.

Re: Six franchises heading downhill

In todays NFL, there's no such thing as windows closing or "heading downhill".

Teams go from good/bad to bad/good every year.

Very few teams remain consistent anymore.

Obviously the Browns and Patriots are the current exceptions. I suspect in 5 years or so that will also change.

Danno, are you saying that in 5 years the Browns will be playing in the Super Bowl?!

The Subway franchise is clearly heading downhill.
