Saints tackle Zach Strief, still rock-solid heading into 12th year in NFL, happy to take Ryan Ramczyk under his wing

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Zach was a top 3 lineman last year like it or not. Many had him graded as number 1 for a good portion of the season. Even if he takes a step back we will be in really good shape ...

Big Country looks to have recovered from a rough 2013; remember when Strief allowed that Ahmad Brooks sack where Brees head nearly came off?

Understandably, he was distracted when his now ex-wife, ex-Saintsation, media hound divorced him and took the house; Strief is better off without her...

Just ask Junior Galette's ex-girlfriend, she whipped out some raw-dogging gossip; or was that really a bitter Junior?

Well now he's received a boost in pay to not only return and mentor Ramczyk which is a great situation for both; and it should offset what the ex got...

Zach also opened a brewery, Port of Orleans Brewing Company, in Uptown at 4100 Tchopitoulas Str; so give the Future Saints Hall of Famer a boost...

After all, what else are you going to do in New Orleans, go sight-seeing monuments? Or just drive around on the unarmed on the Interstate?
He was going through a divorce that was affecting him on the field? This does not make me okay at all.

I thought it was 2015. And it is a big deal if someone is having some personal issues affecting them on the field and you are the important anchor to the offensive line. Streiff is not Brees. Brees having problems personally or not disclosing is one thing, he's the star of our team and the most important person. But Streiff........he's just a important piece to help Brees.

That may sound like I don't respect him, but there are good RTs on other teams each free agency out there that can replace him if we have the money. He is not irreplaceable.

Further, the 2015 thought made me think about his offseason comments in 2016 talking about his play has not declined and the former oline coach was to blame. To think a divorce was affecting him on the field and he goes on record to say stuff like that is what would royally **** me off, but as you said it was 2013. But was Streiff responsible for any of those 5 losses that year?

Strief never made any comments blaming the former coach for his play. I posted the following the last time you made that incorrect accusation.

...

Strief said in an interview after Ingalls was replaced ...

"Anytime you switch offensive line coaches, there's a lot of ways to do it, and I think they all have kind of fundamental differences from each other in the same way that Coach Marrone was different than Kromer who was different than Bret," Strief said. "Sometimes there's fit issues. Coaches like to do things a certain way and maybe he doesn't want the guys that are vested doing that. And I don't know that was the case with Bret, but I think some of the stuff we did with Bret was a little bit different than what we were used to, just some technique stuff that was different, some theories ...

"I think Dan is closer to the norm and what guys were used to. Again, we haven't put pads on and we'll see if that helps at all. I know that just having a fresh message was good for guys."

Referencing that statement the web hack, Larry Larmeu, posted the following tweet ...

Larry @LarryLarmeu
Sounds like Strief is basically saying "glad we fired the old OL coach because he was weird and it didn't go well." https://twitter.com/Kat_Terrell/stat...52637846298624

Once again, get your facts straight, or better yet, actually use facts for a change. Oh, and our right tackle's name is Zach Strief, not Zach Streiff. I have also pointed that fact out to you in the past.
