With this post ...

Being guaranteed that The Dude will be too lazy to click on the link I will post his lie right here and my proof that he simply has no idea about dealing with facts.

The Dude on 6/16/2017 in reply to spkb25:

I do. He did tweet that he was getting tired of telling himself "wait till next year". Given the time it could have been simply frustration but it is very uncharacteristic of him to put something like that on social media.
I think it will depend on how the season goes. If we miss the playoffs with an 11-5 or so record and he sees positive development he stays.

If not I think he moves on.

Here is what I posted in response:

Once again, try getting your facts straight. It would have been uncharacteristic of Brees to put something like that on social media because he never did. Brees was interviewed by Mike Nabors and Nabors posted the following tweet without any context.

https://twitter.com/MikeNabors/statu...35466431574016

Nabors later posted the following tweet explaining that the context of the quote had nothing to do with any possibility of leaving the Saints for another team. It had to do with his own career.

https://twitter.com/MikeNabors/statu...48881799593985

To further place this all in context, the interview was immediately following the final game of the season against the Falcons. Brees subsequently expressed and stressed his desire to play with the Saints well into his forties.

Do you ever research anything before you post it as fact?

I didn't have to research it. You just posted it right there. He was quoted saying tired of saying next year. Everything else you posted is just the reporters interpretation. Yea Brees may of said he was talking about football in general, but you seem to think everything these players and coaches say as truthful. When he said this he still had another year ahead of him. What do you expect him to say? Of course he is going to be diplomatic.

Bottom line is you said Brees didn't say it, and right there in black and white there it is.
I don't know what planet we are on but I can't wait for the season starts and we inevitably lose a game. You will disappear until we win again. Just like always.

Re: Hot Seat?

Drew Brees is tired of losing. He will only play on a one year deal because he wants to keep his options open if the team doesn't become a winner again. He is allowing himself the opportunity to move on if he doesn't like the out come again this year.

Drew doesn't ever criticize anyone publicly. But he is a savvy business man and takes care of his business behind closed doors while keeping a squeaky clean image. It is obvious to me that he's letting the organization know that he's tired of wasting his talents and we have to return to our winning ways.

Payton is one heck of a coach but he sucks at selecting defensive coaching and talent.....it's his Achilles heel.

Also, he's been tied to one of the best bean counters in the league who will make it happen rather than reigning in Payton's wild side. Ireland has been a God send but he's not the General Manager and final decision maker. Loomis doesn't necessarily know football or basketball but he knows accounting.

I've watched closely the relationship between Drew and Sean for about a decade. I've seen the mutual respect between the two evolve into a loving relationship that benefits both greatly. Drew and Sean are tied at the hip. However, like any relationship, it can go south with unrealistic out side pressures and bad decision making. Although winning fixes almost everything. Who Dat!

No. Once again you are completely wrong. YOU said Brees TWEETED it. That is a lie. Admit it. I never denied Brees said that and I actually posted EXACTLY where he said it and EXACTLY the context in which it was said according to the person he said it to. I can't help it if you are too stubborn to take those facts into consideration. You simply continue with your false narratives ignoring anything that proves you wrong.

And when have I EVER disappeared when we were losing? Another bald-faced lie. At one point early last season I refused to post in response to a steady stream of venomous posts by you and spkb25 when the Saints dropped a couple of games, but I was here each and every day ALL DAY. I have been a true fan of my Saints every day for the past 51 years and will ALWAYS support them, win or lose, and not blast them as you did in every post for several weeks.

But I know you will once again ignore the truth and stick to your lies. It appears to be the only way you know how to roll.

First of all, that is not the reason Brees is playing on year to year contracts. He and his agent are using the same philosophy that Peyton Manning (same agent, by the way) used over the last several years of his career. He said he doesn't want the team to be tied down to a long term deal whenever he does decide to call it quits for good.

And on that other item, it's funny that you point out that relationship between Payton and Brees. The Dude says totally the opposite, he claims (with no support whatsover and thus proving he is making more crap up) that Brees and Payton are basically at each others throats, jawing at each other on the sidelines on at least THREE distinct occasions.

Now, Rugby, are you totally wrong about the relationship between Brees and Payton or is The Dude?

Yes Drew said and everyone knows exactly what message he was sending.

Not everyone knew what message he was sending. You and Dude obviously have it wrong. But, it doesn't surprise me that you two would search for as negative an interpretation as possible. It is par for the course.

Yes, a solid post that negated what The Dude had been claiming.

I'm not agreeing with anybody about anything......I'm an antagonist.

However, I do believe that Drew is playing his cards close to his vest and like Peyton is leaving himself options to act if he doesn't like the team results.

Yes. Yes my friend. I get that Drew is also not trying to strap the team when he hangs up his cleats, but like most things in life(and chess) there are often several benefits from one move.

I don't doubt that Drew would leave if the team is in Shambles. The FO has made several nice moves and we are moving in the right direction especially after another strong draft.

Sean Payton and Drew Brees has been described like a marriage made in heave......but like any marriage it has it's ups and downs and the couple can get overly familiar while needing time away and space because they don't see things the same all the time.

Edit: We need to remember that Payton Manning left the Colts for greener pastures.
