he did do better then bowman in preseason even tho he had a couple bad games. I think he showed over in europe that he\'s a gamer. (he\'s a playmaker when it comes game time)

Being a fellow male, I could probably relate to Blake if he were presented with the option to back up Brooks. His pride is too high to take a job backing up a guy like Brooks, unless he were strung out on crack and needed the money bad. He ain\'t coming back to New Orleans.

Anyone think we could get a better QB than JT O\'Sullivan with our 7th rounder?

Thats what it would take to get him back. He already knows our system. If we\'re gonna run, run, and run some more, why not get this kid back?
I\'m all in favor. I still would like to see what he could do if he could start in a real game. I thought I saw something in the guy, but never really got to see him when it counted. Did he ever get in a regular season game as a Saint? Also, I thought it was a sixth round pick we would have to give up for him. Even so, I would still be for it.

McCown just re-signed today, so he is no longer an option anyway.

I\'m going to retract my complaint about JT. In the preseason, his passer rating was 75.1, 2 TD, 2 INTs, and 31/60 completions. This is considerably better than Bouman who\'s passer rating was 55.1, 1 TD, 3 INTs, and 33/60 completions.

While I think that JT is being made out to be more than he is, he is CLEARLY better than Bouman.

McMahon on the other hand wasn\'t any better than Bouman with a passer rating of 58.1, 1 TD, 2 INTs, and 36/71 completions.

I\'d rather get JT back, I guess.

He did get to play one regular season series. He knelt the ball down for Farve at the end of one game.

Mike McMahon was signed by the Eagles last week so he isn\'t an option any more and like JKool just posted he is nothing more than a scrambling fool. I would like to see JT back and maybe play a little more than he did last preseason to see if there really is anything to him. Hey what about Fluite as a gap stopper until we can find a long term solution. I know that he is old as dirt but he says he still wants to play.

I like Flutie. It would depend on the cost, of course.

Good info on McMahon. I hadn\'t noticed that. It looks like it is the draft for a QB or we\'re looking at Bouman, Kingsbury, or Finlen if Brooks gets hurt.

1. Despite what Aaron Brooks might tell you, JEFF BLAKE was the quarterback who was MORE responsible for the Saints 10-6 division winning year in 2000 - lest we forget.

2. JT for a 7th? Holy criznap, why haven\'t we jumped on that? I\'ve got $20 towards his salary. I\'ll even throw in a box of Krisy Kreme for Sullivan (gotta help Benson keep costs down, you know... and that Sully can go through some doughnuts).

3. I already have a standing offer with the Saints to raise money to pay for a Flutie contract. That guy could start over Brooks.

just for the heck of it:

brooks career: 56.5 percentage 81.5 rating 101/ 67 td/int
Blake career: 56.3 percentage 77.9 rating and 133 99 td/int

and blake has five years of less than 5 games started;brooks has 1....blake also played for some of the worst teams in the NFL...ny jets, arizona, US during those years....

pretty comparable...kinda like you could interchange them-yet brooks is still starting..go figure
