PJ Williams Praised by Ike Taylor

Vernon Hargreaves, Artie Burns among young corners to watch - NFL.com

P.J. Williams, New Orleans Saints
2017 projection: Three interceptions and 11 pass deflections.

This guy has been hampered by injury way too often. He was out all of 2015 with a torn hamstring and was put on injured reserve after Week 2 last season. Williams is too good to not play, and the Saints need his help in the secondary. He's a big corner (6-foot, 196 pounds) who can play bump-and-run coverage well, throwing the timing off between the quarterback and his receiver. Williams is poised for a big year because he has dedicated himself to his training this offseason in Orlando, Florida. I've trained with him this summer, and I've seen the urgency to get better physically. He understands what it means to be a professional. We're going to see him crack the Saints' starting lineup and make a splash.

Fellas, if Breaux, Williams and Lattimore can stay on the field together I think we are going to have a GREAT secondary!

I didn't know Williams was married to a pop singer? Dude must hit pretty hard.

he was a steal in the third now he has to stay on the field to prove it.

Same concerns i have with the one year wonder in our first round pick. Lattimore has to stay healthy and start full filling the upside hype to do things as a CB he has yet achieved because of his lengthy Achilles injury history.

And if Ellerbe could stay healthy....

Agreed, but I cannot remember the last time the Saints had a secondary completely healthy for more than a few games during any season. Even during s SB run we had 3/4 of our secondary out at one point during the season.

I hope that we have some better depth that can help and that we remain primarily healthy. I would agree with you though- if Breaux is back and PJ can stay healthy throw in the rookie and things get interesting.

Interesting graphic here. We have experienced our share of RB, LB, DT and CB injuries in recent years. Apparently so has everyone else ...

RB's most injured followed by DT's, CB's and LB's.

I'll take that analyst coming from Ike as it relates to P.J.

Freakish injury last year and hopefully it's behind him. He is a sound tackler & we can use him in 2017.

"Can't wait" for training camp.
