Linebacker A.J. Klein likely to assume key play-calling role for Saints defense
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Bobby Hebert was on PBS Thursday and stated that Klein will definitely be the guy with the mic on Sundays during games...He said it's not even close......

This is what I love about klien. He was JUST a solid LB coming out of college and the panthers used him all over the field. Which is perfect, it improved his all around game which was solid to begin with. Plus no major injury history and some very good coaching. Now we get an almost finished project that is as prepared to be starter as any backup in the NFL, I have ever seen. All he needs is more starter time on the field to see how good he maybe. I think we will all be resting easy in 2018 at what ever position he settles in at. I wanted him out of college. I kept a close eye from day 1. Easy to do when we play them twice a year and twice a year I would say to myself we screwed the pooch not taking him. I thank the panthers for all the money and time they put into AJ only to let him escape as a FA. I am thinking we repeated a Scott Fujita type of move here. A Vilma type of ? not going there yet. but he does have the athletic skill set i am really looking forward to see this kid in the final 4 games |

Makes sense.
You prefer your play caller to be a 3-down guy. He's probably the only experienced LB we have that can play in all of our packages. |
