Quarterback
Drew Brees, Chase Daniel (2)
There’s nothing Garrett Grayson or Ryan Nassib could have done in Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. The Saints could choose one of these passers for the practice squad. I also wouldn’t put it past the Saints to nab someone off the waiver wire or a player who passes through waivers to become the third quarterback in the building.
That Daniel interception by Ravens defensive tackle Carl Davis? Terrible. But he rebounded with a perfect two-minute drill, ending with a touchdown strike to Josh Hill before halftime.

Running back
Mark Ingram, Adrian Peterson, Alvin Kamara, Daniel Lasco, John Kuhn (5, 7 total roster)
This is another position that has been solidified for weeks.
Travaris Cadet returned to action vs. the Ravens, but his roster spot seems long gone despite a solid outing Thursday. Lasco did himself no favors by fumbling, but he’s still safe. The practice squad spot between Darius Victor and Trey Edmunds was the primary battle heading into the fourth preseason game.

Wide receiver
Michael Thomas, Willie Snead, Ted Ginn Jr., Brandon Coleman, Tommylee Lewis (5, 12 total)
Add a third position without any real change the past couple of weeks. This spot is so set that none of the players on my roster took the field Thursday -- all were healthy scratches.
Lewis took this job from the likes of Corey Fuller and Jake Lampman with his stellar practice and game snaps. Will the Saints bring back a wideout for the practice squad after Saturday’s cuts? I would certainly think so, with Lampman and Travin Dural being prime candidates.
Dural, Lampman and Fuller lined up as the top three wideouts to start the Ravens game.

I sure hope they can find an Olineman after the final cuts. Other than Oline and QB, it looks like there's pretty good depth just about everywhere else this year.

I don't think so. It's the guy's 6th year in the league. He likely won't clear waivers anyway.

Bighill deserves consideration for a 53 man roster spot. If you zero in on him in each pre season game, he's in on just about every tackle. He's small in stature but a dawg.

I like the 53 he put together. I think he's right about Anthony too. I don't think he makes the team. Not with the way Bighill has played.

I think Anthony will wind up on injured reserve, he has a high ankle sprain.
