Because you know how important rankings are in the NFL process to deciding who the Champs will be, not the Superbowl for sure...

Yes. And the Patriots were what to win the SB?

Crazy stuff.

ProFootball Focus - An Argument That Statistics Can Be Presented To Make Any Argument... And the belaboring of the obvious continues right into the season! Any idiot, with the exception of will_____81 knows that statistics are a load of hooey until you need them to "prove" a point.

No kidding. statistics is liars math if you wish to make it so. At least in football the basics are so basic you have little objectivity you can infuse into the data. Now the more detailed stats sre a totally different story. This is what I learned from 4 quarters of statistics in college.

Proof is the assumptions and wording of any detailed argument in stats. those you never get to see.

Statistics showed that our defense has sucked for several years and our offense was very good.

Is that not the case?

In those years, yes. That is the case. But that does not translate into this season due to the great degree of delta in the factors involved. The only inference that can be made statistically of the 2017 season can be the data from the pre-season, and that is limited as the full scheme and the full involvement of starters was not included.

If our D can get in the 23 rage I'm estatic. Our O don't have to be a top3 but anywhere close we're in buisness.

Past performance is not indicative of future results.

If it is, then I will continue to support the Saints but in full knowledge that we will never ever have a winning season.

If I had the booze, the time, the Forever Fan thread savers and the lack of apathy I bet I could come up with the stats proving that our defense really didn't suck.

I wish they would have ranked us 32nd.
That way teams won't be prepared for what's behind door #1 or door #2 or door #3.
