In my opinion, the Colts should be focussing on finding a replacement for Rob Morris at ILB. Florida's Channing Crowder would be ideal because he has the athleticism to drop in coverage in Dungy's cover-2 scheme. If he's off the board, I think Odell Thurman (UGA) is the next best ILB.
this is from todd mcshay's draft talk...

osh ( MIami)
Why does Kiper say Crowder is a Third rounder yet you guys say he is a first?

TODD MCSHAY
Matter of opinion, I guess. I can see how Crowder has bust potential because he's raw and has some character concerns. But in my opinion, he has too much natural talent to slip out of the first round. If he does, it won't be far into the second.

I don\'t really like crowder...but-I\'m willing to look at the whole picture as well as conflicting opinions.

with crowder-you have to look at character, maturity and physical problems and then compare him to his potential.
I don\'t like potential..not when you have to build for the present, and I don\'t like character problems.

so it\'s pick your poison...but theone thing I do know is that we need linebackers...desperatly. and hodge, ruff and rodgers are not the linebackers we need.

somebody said one time: I don\'t want my linebackers to be model citizens I want them to be psychopaths....

but that aside..his consistency and our coaching staff together worry me..

Well....it\'s a dangerous thing(potential), but given his firey nature, I\'d be willing to bet that he would be just what the team is looking for. I think he\'d be a great value for our second round pick.

see that\'s what worries me...all thesse guys woudl be great in the second or late first-not with the 16th..but they more than likely will not be there when we pick in the second.

so what\'ya do?

I really doubt Crowder will fall to the second round. Maybe the saints could trade to the bottom part of the first. Might as well just get him at 16. He will be good. Almost anybody has bust potiential.
