10 things we learned from the Saints' 36-20 loss to the Patriots

1. Tom Brady is good, like, really good
I realize I’m being Capt. Obvious here, but Brady was special Sunday. He picked apart the Saints' defense, consistently beating pressure to find open receivers downfield. Brady completed 19 of 25 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, leading the Patriots to an insurmountable 30-13 lead at the break. He finished 30-of-39 for three TDs and no interceptions.

2. Saints' offensive line moves worked
New Orleans moved Andrus Peat from left guard to left tackle and slid rookie Ryan Ramczyk to right tackle in the wake of Zach Strief’s knee injury. Veteran Senio Kelemete earned the start at left guard. For the most part, the moves paid off. The three played well enough, although Peat was beaten a few times in pass protection. When you pass as often as the Saints did, that’s going to happen.

5. The pass rush is non-existent
Other than Cam Jordan, the Saints rarely pressured Brady or moved him off his mark. Hau’oli Kikaha had one sack in the first half. Otherwise, there wasn’t nearly enough pressure on Brady, who had all day to find his open targets downfield.

8. Kenny Vaccaro's trade value just went down
The veteran safety was the subject of trade speculation during Sunday morning news shows, but it certainly didn’t seem to motivate him. Vaccaro struggled in coverage and also missed a couple of tackles. All in all, it was a tough day for him, but he certainly wasn’t alone.

ESPN called it Tom Brady's best first quarter in his career.
We're back to giving opposing players their best ______ ever.

We also learned Bill Belichick can show mercy. It could have been 50 on the board really easy.

And who really gets Pressure on Brady? He has a damn force field around him for the most part. Often I see him have 6 secs or more.

After 2 games 4 out of the 5 leading tacklers are in the secondary.

TOT
PJ Williams 18
A.J. Klien 13
Kenny Vaccaro 11
Marshon Lattimore 11
Marcus Williams 10

That's pathetic.

Payton has no clue how to turn this mess around.

4 years man.... 4 years and the only thing that's changed is our offense got worse. That was the only thing we had going for us.

Biggest issue that stands out to me after two games

The saints can not stop the run in between the tackles.

Second?

Setting the edge on defense is a mix bag of rookie mistakes and veteran screw ups.

Third?
way to much free lancing in the secondary
