Him trying to say "the players are using their free speech" is the most galling to me, since the NFL so rigidly bars so much the players say elsewhere. They've even fined players for tweets or not giving press conferences.

Words like "should" and "may" are compulsory terms. Meaning they are essential, yet they are NOT mandatory.

So it's up to teams and NFL to enforce fines and penalties, but Roger Goodell and the NFL owners have made it very clear they will not enforce desecration of the flag by employees of the NFL.

Yet those who tried to honor the victims up 9/11 by wearing special socks, shoes, etc. were threatened with heavy fines.

Consider Bounty Gate, for example, among so many other rules and regulations the NFL has invented in recent times. How many of those rules are EVER enforced with regularity or in fairness???

Bountygate itself is an example of the NFL ONLY enforcing rules where it can gain PR that boost it's case to make settlement with NFL players union and retired players to show it wants to help football player targeting injuries.

This time GODdell's selective enforcement of the rules is going to cost him and the NFL a lot of money!

It was amazing to me how some people had turned this protest against police brutality and inequality to showing disrespect for the American flag and the military. Since it was reported that the Russians are influencing this it’s now understandable. Nevertheless, most people recognize the first amendment right of the players to protest, but is asking they would not do it during the playing of the national anthem. The second amendment gives us the right to bear arms. Which I agree with. When asked that we give up our automatic weapons do you remember the response to that request? If we are going to ask them to not protest during the playing of the national anthem, are we willing to give up our automatic weapons?

The original reason was as you stated but people were still mad about when they chose to do it. Why do it during the National Anthem if it's for a totally different reason? Only the corrupt Police are brutal to all criminals not just blacks. Oppression is in the eyes of the beholder. Those who are protesting are not oppressed and most don't seem to care about blacks killing blacks all over America and why not? Those criminals shouldn't have any 2nd amendment rights but if you take that away from them then you leave the good citizens exposed. Criminals don't buy guns.

Some things don't actually require rules.

You have less than ten posts in this community and you're gonna try and come in here and drop some incoherent argument about Russians?!?

Are you on George Soros' payroll?

Unlike some users here, I'm not gonna tell you what you can, can not say;
but I'm gonna call four successive bombs and sink your battleship if you try this Bullshinski here...

Ignore the $400 million dollar profit Tom Benson will realize by 2025! Keep blaming his "Employee" Why do you think he paid so well? You wouldn't take $40+ million a year to bear the blame? Yeah, sure you wouldn't!
