Re: Saints Bye Week History

Biggest thing in this BYE is that our guys can come out of this week stronger, healthier and with more film time on them...

Yep, thanks. That one should have been obvious, huh? I've corrected it on my site.

History shows the Saints never played during the Bye Week!

I was at that game. "Destroyed" is putting it mildly. It was a long walk back to the car.

Detroit clobbered us the last time we came off a BYE and played the Lions, so that's a concern...

The Lions just beat Minnesota 14-7 in an ugly death-cage match fight, where the Vikes lost Dalvin Cook...

Looks like we're gonna need the BYE week to scout and take these Lions very seriously as a balanced threat...
We survived what I thought was murders row in the first four games. Our opponents are playing good football now and there are only a couple of games where we'll be the favorites. It's going to be tough staying above .500 but I believe that we've got the talent to win close games. We are obviously a better team with the direction from our new coaches. Glenn in his second year has been able to develop Crawley and a couple of other players.

Still, none of these games look like a gimme'.

Even our BYE is gonna be a touch, Hurricane Nate...

Well, maybe the team can shelter at Saints HQ and gets extra film study done...

I believe murderers' row is just starting...Detroit is no slouch, banged up a little; then Green Bay, there, where we've not been able to get the W and they just smoked Dallas in Dallas; the Bears have taken several teams down to the last play; then the Bucs who are supposed to replace us in the NFC South Food-Chain...

This schedule, when all is said and done, will be one of the most daunting in the NFL by season's end...Either way, if we want to be the best, bring all comers...
