Saints Defense: From Worst To First?

In the first two double-digit losses of the season to Minnesota and New England, the Saints allowed a league-worst 777 passing yards and tied for the league lead with six touchdown passes allowed. Their opponents’ Total QBR was 93.8 -- nearly 20 points higher than any other defense in the NFL.

Then they flipped the switch. The Saints were the only NFL team that didn’t allow a touchdown pass in Weeks 3 or 4 (both runaway wins). And their opponents’ Total QBR over those two games was 6.4 -- nearly 12 points better than any other defense.

The true litmus test will begin on successive Sundays for this young D, starting with the Lions inside the dome.

I'm excited like most are, but we have a pretty rough few weeks with some great QB's coming up. Stafford and Rodgers are going to be on their game. They are not Jay Cutler, we need to have a solid plan and execute perfectly.

From a mobility perspective Stafford is not that different that Cutler. He just gets rid of the ball faster. Rogers is going to be the real test...

The Lions have had a problem covering tight ends; hopefully Fleener has a big day!

above 20 is a great start, and lower than 25 is grr. 30 or below is a wasted off season.

I am going 20 to 25 range is acceptable. I will be fired up for FA and the draft not feeling so desperate

Re: Saints Defense: From Worst To First?

Cb play is vastly improved and we have much better LB unit than last year.DE is still a concern some body needs to step up.Better than last year but we will need help against the QBs we face. It would be nice if one of our draft choices made some plays .I don't think that we will get great results from one guy but maybe it will come from a good rotation. We are getting better but the bar was not very high.
