What we learned from Saints' 26-17 win at Green Bay

The New Orleans Saints defeated the Green Bay Packers 26-17 on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Here's what we learned from the game:

The Saints are in position to go on a run
Having won four consecutive games, the Saints are one of if not the hottest teams in the NFL right now. They have a great chance to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the NFC South Division. They return home for a pair of winnable games against the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Drew Brees is human
Brees is usually as accurate as any quarterback, but he was uncharacteristically sloppy early in this one, throwing two killer interceptions in Packers territory to thwart potential scoring drives. Brees didn't throw an interception in his first four and a half games. Entering the game, Sean Payton said he was impressed by the Packers' defensive backs, and their coverage skills were apparent Sunday.

The Packers can't count
The Saints caught Green Bay with only 10 defenders to score their first touchdown. The Packers were scrambling with their substitutions, and New Orleans quickly snapped the ball. Mark Ingram ran right into the void where the Packers were missing a cornerback for an easy 12-yard touchdown run to tie the score at 7.

Ken Crawley is going to hear about his missed tackle
The second-year cornerback should be ashamed of himself for the weak tackle attempt on Hundley’s second-quarter touchdown run. Crawley might have thought Hundley was going to run out of bounds instead of cutting back into the field of play, but he has to do a better job than the half-hearted attempt he made near the goal line. Rest assured, Saints coaches and teammates will let Crawley have it during film study this week.
Brees pulls off his own Lambeau Leap
The Saints scored the decisive touchdown when Brees did his patented leap over the top from the 1-yard line on third-and-goal. The TD put New Orleans up 26-17. Brees has done this numerous times over the years, and I’ve never understood why more teams don’t employ a similar strategy.

I’m proud they found a way to win a sloppy game. That’s a good sign.

Overcame early mistakes and got it together in the second half. Good win.

P.J. Shouldve start over Crawley but like a pack of juicy fruit, Payton is not going to change back to. p.j til they lose. I am not saying Crawley is a bad option but he have to become a more solid tackler.

Seriously? Crawley going into this game was one of the top ranked CBs in the league...

And, have the Saints lost since Crawley started opposite Lattimore?

We have a great chance of winning 9 in a row before we play Carolina in Carolina.

We certainly do, especially since we don't play Carolina in Carolina again till next season.
