So..... Have you missed Stephone Anthony?
 
Since drafting him with a number one pick, he did incredibly well the first year, then nuttin' ! How is he doing in Miami?

Unfortunately not much better in Miami.

Chalk it up as a bad draft selection, it happens. I had high hopes for Stephone.

The Dolphins are 3-1 since picking up Anthony.

The Saints are 4-0 since trading him away.

The trade was a win-win.

I was at Bobby Hebert's restaurant on draft night.
When the pick was announced, I jumped up and went over to where Mike D was seated.
I waited til the break.
I told him that I heard him touting Anthony in interviews for months leading up to that time.
Mike D and I high fived when the radio break came.
We were both so 100% certain that we had the next great ILB.

Meh.
We were wrong.

We were wrong.
That says a lot right there. I put a lot of stock in what I hear coming from Mike D., so to hear you tell this story only further reiterates what we already know. And that's that you never know.

As much time will pass between the JFK Assassination and Trump's Executive Order to declassify documents than we'll get to the truth of how Anthony fell out of favor with Payton's Saints...

Speaking of Bobby Hebert, it was just a years ago when Hebert set the record straight with fans on his Monday night radio show about Carl Smith's supposed mind-numbing play-calling...

(It was Jim Mora and not Carl Smith who was responsible because Mora didn't have trust, confidence in the Saints offense)

Akiem Hicks was another casualty in the purge when transitioning from Rob Ryan to Dennis Allen - so there's a helluva story out there for a Saints beat writer about these departures...
