to add to the Saints' roster to improve the team, which two players would you choose? I would choose Peyton and Urlacher...for obvious reasons.

If you could pick any two players...

McNabb and Ed Reed.

for a one year rental, peyton manning and ray lewis.

to keep, peyton and a younger backer, vilma, suggs, or julian peterson

I\'d take Jon Vilma and Big Daddy Glover, solves our 2 biggest needs

I would take Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. The offense is a little sporadic at times, but our defense obviously needs the help

Marcus Stroud & Levar Arrington

On offense, Peyton Manning. He demands perfection from both himself, and his teammates. That is a trait you want to rub off on your entire team.

On defense, Ray Lewis. I always felt the MLB is the QB of the defense, and Ray is cream of the crop there.

All this Peyton Manning junk is making me sick. In a way, he\'s Brooks, good stats, cant win big games........

Granted I kno he has a better head on his shoulders than Brooks, but I wouldnt want Manning at all. I\'d take so many others over him. Why is it that no one has said Brady?

Because Brady is a product of coaching and the team around him. Put him on a lot of other teams and he would be above average but nothing special -- put Manning on any team and he would be special. Also --- Manning cannot win the big games -- he is still young -- took Elway a long time to win the big one -- you think he stinks -- Marino -- does he suck ---

OMG.... :casstet:

The only thing Manning has in common with Brooks is that they both breathe oxygen. Apparently AB doesn\'t breathe enough of it.

How would u call Brooks stats good??? And even if u call them good, how can u compare them to 49 TDs, 9 INTs??? I can accept if u say that you don\'t like Manning, but it\'s probably all personal feelings toward him. How can you hate his game???

My two players would be Peyton and Ray Lewis, btw.

Hold on, are u saying the Patriots have more talent than the Colts? I beleive there are quite a few big names on the Colts offense. I think If you throw Brooks into Indy, his numbers would be pretty great too. I think Brady gets the most out of his players, Manning was given a line up of superstars. I think we can all agree we need a leader not a stat-star.

Wow. Just wow. AB as good as Peyton? Why did this thread have to go there? Wow. I guess when Edge James had his knee blown out before they got Stokley and Marvin Harrison was the only threat Peyton got handed a bunch of weapons then too? 5 words, un-be-lie-va-ble. Possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Possibly. AB isn\'t as good as Eli Manning let alone Peyton. Come on.

Wouldn\'t be as good as Manning\'s because Brooks has no touch on his passes. Peyton hits a LOT of deep routes, which Brooks has proven he can\'t hit at all. Brooks\'s best pass is that 5 to 10 yard bullet. Plus Manning is allowed to audible at will on the line of scrimmage. They wouldn\'t give Brooks that privlege because he couldn\'t handle it. Not only that, they probably couldn\'t understand his bad grammar.

But we digress....

Ya know GT, I really should learn to just ignore statements like that. The original thought of this thread was pretty good. But I knew when a lot of people went with QBs, I figured someone was gonna have a problem, never thought the argument would be that outlandish though. I hope this thread goes back to people simply picking who they think would help, cause I liked the idea. It was much more enjoyable when people weren\'t being critical of other\'s choices.

Ok, everyone is missing what I am saying. Ok, Brooks and not an equally good as Manning, Im no saying that. What I am saying is, this is jumping back into the damn stats debate again. Simply put like this:

Manning has Touchdowns in season record
Brady has 2 superbowl rings and leadership

Which one is gunna help your team?

Danno, I heard AB can play a mean game of dominoes too. I would dare to say he is probably BETTER than Peyton at dominoes. How\'s that grab ya? ;)

I think what GT is saying, and I would have to agree, if you put Manning on the Pats, they still have 3 rings. Put Brady on the Colts and you would have the same team, if not slightly worse. I don\'t wanna get into the whole Brady is a system QB thing, cause I think he is a very good QB, But the system and TEAM works to his advantage. People complain about our D 24-7, and Peyton\'s is just as bad and in some categories worse. And Brady couldn\'t change that. But Peyton could have 3 rings if he was Pats QB.

most people think that stats are the defining definition of a football player when they only tell you half the story-or when you only use incomplete stats.

but how did this convo get so off track...

I\'ll take brady--but the question you gotta ask-is he a good qb in that scheme-whereas peyton will be a good QB no matter where he goes....

Ok, so I went off topic for like 2 sentences, mostly I was wondering where Brady\'s name was, thats all. Sorry i disturbed the peace

As good as Peyton is ... I would not take him.

First ... he costs too damn much.

Second ... Peyton hasn\'t proven he can get it done. Now, Peyton might go on to be the best \"clutch\" QB in the history of the NFL. But ... Man, he\'s had some God Awful games in the playoffs and he has been more responsible for his team losing than any other single player on that Colts\' team.

I\'d take Brady over Petyon. When the Pats\' offense needs to score 30-points to win ... they score 31-points.

When Peyton and co. need to score 30-points to win ... they score 10-points.

gumbo i understand your argument but i dont agree. this is and always will be a team game. quite honestly THIS PAST SEASON the loss wasnt his fault. they were completely dominated all over the field. at every position. i would have to say that what did surprise me about that game was the way indy\'s d played.
but i agree i would take brady also. for some reason the new joe montana just gets it done. i believe he has earned the right to be compared to joe. because that is who he reminds me of

Peyton Manning and Julius Peppers

Both are incredibly skilled and young enough to make an impact for many years. Manning is, in my opinion, the best thing going at QB, and his dedication to learning the nuances of the game only add to his raw talents. Peppers is a disruptive force with true playmaking ability, and his speed gives him tremendous versatility.

LaDanian Tomlinson - because he doesn\'t even need an O-line.

Ray Lewis - he\'d make everyone around him better.
