BATTLE OF THE GRIDIRON STARS

CULPEPPER, LEFTWICH, MANNING FAMILY AND OTHERS TO COMPETE STARTING APRIL 12

ESPN will televise the "friendly" competition NFL players share off the turf when Battle of the Gridiron Stars Presented by Goodyear debuts Tuesday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. Twenty of the best AFC and NFC players will be put their athletic prowess and pride to the test competing in a variety of tasks that have nothing to do with football.

For six consecutive weeks (Tuesdays at 9 p.m.) viewers will see 20 NFL stars such as Daunte Culpepper, Byron Leftwich, Marvin Harrison and the brothers Manning (Eli and Peyton) compete in tasks similar to the classic Superstars competitions, including tug-o-war, dodge ball, rock climbing and swimming relay. Former NFL all-star quarterbacks Charlie Manning (New Orleans Saints) and Ken "The Snake" Stabler (Oakland Raiders) will serve as coaches for the National (blue) and American (red) teams, respectively. Each 60-minute episode will conclude with the Battle of the Gridiron Stars signature event: the obstacle course.

ESPN commentators Joe Theismann and Kirk Herbstreit will call the action with sideline reporters Harold Reynolds and Sam Ryan.

He did well in the bowling, but basically lost the entire show for his team by falling off the wall in the obstacle course. Oh well, we still love ya Joe.

Old Joe couldn\'t pull his own body weight over the wall, and he was the only one. Hell Algee Crumpler did it. Then he fell off the monkey bars also. Stick to the games on Sunday Joe and stop these competitions. He was the slowest in fastest man before the Pro Bowl and now he can\'t get over a wall that a tight end who outweighs him by 50 pounds can.

GT, nice sentiment(and I agree even if you were being sarcastic).

BR, it was a good show. You shoulda caught it man. I am sure they will show it again. I had to TIVO it since I went to the Spurs game, but I stayed up late watching it. Pretty funny and fun stuff.

I was kind of being sarcastic but you know I was a big supporter of your Mike Williams scenario. If he slips past the top 10 I say make a play for him.

He had the worst YAF\'s (Yards After Fall) in the competition also. Maybe his value will drop? I wonder if he had a cell phone hidden somewhere in case he had won?
Stick to on field Sunday performances Joe.

Well, considering that during the bowling and the wall climb they pulled cell phone gags on him, I would think he had enough of that.
