Saints announce Delvin Breaux will not play this season
 

Saints coach Sean Payton announced today that Breaux has been ruled out for the rest of the year. He initially suffered a fractured fibula in August and recently experienced a setback.

I wonder what that means for him long-term? Crawley and Lattimore will have the top 2 corner-back spots locked down next year...

Is his career over with? Even other injuries have kept him in the tub and on the spin bike.

Breaux might be done here: six games in two seasons. The plus side is that he is cheap, very cheap

I have a feeling that's the last we'll see of him in the black and gold. I think he's due to hit free agency next year and I'd rather they hang onto PJ as the third corner. It was fun while it lasted and I'll root for him to do well wherever he goes. Super cool story, but too much injury risk and he's already 27 or 28. See ya DB.

So sad to hear this news. Most don't know the Delvin broke his back in several places in high school after receiving an scholarship to LSU which LSU honored. He played in Arena and CFL before coming to the Saints.

He is a gritty player whose career has been poisoned by injuries. His last injury, a misdiagnosed broken fibula doctors said was only a fracture, got team doctors fired.

I think the Saints will give him every opportunity to heal and return, but this latest fracture near the plate they put in for his broken leg may require revision surgery. Let's pray and hope he can return. He's a fighter.

Isn't he a restricted FA? If so, I believe he will be tendered a 1st rd but probably traded for a 2nd & 5th

Apparently we're shifting personnel around to shuttle in defenders based on weekly match ups. Worked well last week against the Bucs bringing in more LB and deactivating Safety Bush.

I wonder if that's what this move is?
