Re: Saints’ future is bright under projected 2018 NFL Salary Cap

so the Effective Cap Space: $33,480,417

with Drew and Kenny to sign at a min of $26 million

that knocks it down to about $7 million.

Spend wisely my friend spend wisely

this is why I am bargain basement shopping max 4 mill a year

DaQuan Jones DT/DE Titians 6036 322 5.35 #90 R4 2014 $3/4

Alex Okafor $2/3

I am done and still got enough leftover for a cheese burger and shake, maybe

OR

Draft a SS and let Kenny walk and pray for a comp pick

Ronnie Harrison SS/FS/CB Alabama 6011 214 4.54 #15 Jr

oh the cap games we can play from here on out gives me a head ache.

"We may have lost the game, but you'll be hurting tomorrow." Doug Atkins

Don't forget about the roster bonuses that can be converted to signing bonuses. They total $12.7 million in 2018. $2.9 million of that belongs to Strief and can be fully retained if he doesn't return.

I'm letting Kenny V walk. After 4+ years in NO, he's still a very inconsistent player in the secondary & making rookie mistakes. I see no situational awareness from him. I caught some of SP post game presser and I'm paraphrasing here but basically said .. "we are having the same issues / same guys with costly penalties that will eventually cost us".

If I had to take a guess, he was referring to Kenny V .

It's a shame really. It's not as if he has not gotten a chance to shine consistently for a big fat contract. We all wish he'd turned into a Troy Polumanu. But yes, we should follow the NE Patriots model and let him walk... unless he takes a home town discount.

There’s better options out there at safety next year.
