Playoffs

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Is there still a chance for 3 seed? I’m thinking not since the Rams beat us. Also what would happen if Atlanta and Carolina tie?...

We'd have to finish ahead of the Rams. So a Saints win/tie coupled with a Rams loss (Cardinals) would secure the 3rd seed.

Seeding wise, I'm not sure it's much difference.

Then it would depend on the Seahawks, who would be in a "win and in" situation. The Panthers would have the 5th seed regardless in the event of a tie presuming a Saints win.

Re: Playoffs

I posted this earlier

SAINTS PLAYOFF SCENARIOS

For the Saints to get the 3 seed
Saints must win and Rams must lose
Result: Saints will host either Falcons or Seahawks in the wild-card round. Both teams are 9-6. Atlanta has the tiebreaker.

For the Saints to get the 4 seed
Saints win and Rams win OR Saints lose and Panthers lose
Result: The Saints will host the Panthers in the wild-card round.

For the Saints to get the 5 seed
Saints must lose and Panthers must win
Result: Saints will visit either Panthers or Rams in the wild-card round. If the Rams win in Week 17, the Saints would face Carolina. If the Rams lose in Week 17, the Saints would face the Rams.

Re: Playoffs

Personally, I don't know what LA needs to play starters for. Is it that important for NFL teams to have the 3 seed as opposed to the 4?
