The million dollar question is what, if anything, the league will do about it!

There’s a strange subplot to the question of whether the Panthers failed to properly conduct a concussion evaluation after quarterback Cam Newton took a blow to the head and then stumbled to the ground while exiting the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Saints. According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers now admit that Newton was embellishing whatever injury he had, in order to give backup Derek Anderson time to loosen up.

Lies lies lies. Anyone with eyes that can see, knows exactly what happened. And when the smoke clears, they will get slapped with a 100k fine for not following procedure. WHoopie dooooo. How many teams would give zero sh!ts to take that fine if it means there is a chance that the questionable player can win a playoff game and there team advances..hint..ALL OF THEM.

The penalty is barley a slap on the wrist. You wanna make teams think twice about shannagins like this, start taking draft picks and I'm talking 1st and 2nd rders..bet ya this crap won't happen anymore.

I keep it this as possible because this is what teams are doing to slow the Saints offense now.

My problem with all this is that why doesn't it seem to be ok that most players who have a hint of concusion is taking out of game for protocol and aren't able to return but the BIG NFL starts of the team seem to skirt the protocol and sneak back into the game.

For some teams - depending on the game they will pay the fine and ok as long as their big time player is on the field.

I don't think he should have been allowed back into the game until after x-rays were done. Just some Dr looking into your eyes isn't enough. They care so much about saftey then they have to take the player out of the game and not return him to it until they check him out at a hospital and a day or two off.

agree - even better take the pic and give it to the team they played against. Essencially they cheated on the team / game. The opposing team should be compensated.
