As good as a bye

Well not really at all but I’m sure it helps

Minnesota gets the bye and has to study 4 teams the first week. The second week they get to focus on us. The rest certainly helps but it’s not like they have been able to focus solely on us for both weeks.
In the meantime we have had to play 3 teams in Tampa, Carolina, and Atlanta in a very short period of time. All three have played Minnesota, 2 of those teams have lost (3 counting us) and 1 of those teams won.
Great examples of what to do and what not to do.
You can bet that during prep and film study for those division games the Minnesota games were examined.
I think this gives us a better chance than anyone else who might have had to play them in the playoffs to get the win. At least from a preparedness standpoint.

So did the Vikings and they don't have as experienced a backup. Their starting left guard, Easton, broke his ankle in week 16. And their center missed their last game due to a lingering shoulder injury.

Re: As good as a bye

I was thinking the other day that the Detroit games (one of which the Vikings lost) might be helpful game film, to see what Detroit and Matt Stafford did offensively against them, and also for ideas of what to do against the Vikes on defense.

Detroit came to play on defense & forced fumbles that led to points.

I hope to see this (Saints winning the turnover battle) on Sunday.
