The Browns are estimated to have a whopping $110 million in 2018 salary cap space, meaning they’re first in the league in cap space by more than $30 million. Cleveland could offer Brees an insane contract. Cleveland could sign him to a one-year, $50 million contract and the Browns would still have $60 million in cap space, which would still be more than all but four other teams.

Saints cant afford to let him walk.He is a must resign by March 11 or he will cost 18 million against the cap regardless if he resigns or signs anywhere else. If he wants 30 million they have to pay it.

Sad part is the Browns will have to overpay to attract people so in reality that 100mil in cap space will feel like 60 mil, still a lot tho.

I'm not saying Hugh is necessarily the answer for the Brownies, but firing coaches every two years for 20 years is a big part of their problem. Stability is very important.

That being said, this is one of the dumber premise for an article I've seen in a while. This would only make sense if your team was really loaded and just missing great QB play like the Broncos were post Teebo. I just don't see the Browns just a QB away and why on earth would anyone actually think Drew would want to end his career in Cleveland on a go nowhere team?
Drew got maximum dollar in his prime years but has been reasonable ever since. I don't see him as a blood thirsty mercenary ready to get maximum $ regardless of where that leads him.

Browns will probably throw the money truck at Cousins or Foles if the Eagles are smart enough to cash in on him.

Browns will throw money at the biggest egos in the NFL. Looks great on paper but it never works out. No way Brees or Cousins is going there.
