Three thing you can count on from Billy:

1) Defend AB at all costs.
2) When his posts are questioned, immediately deflect blame as in \"I am just responding to you guys\' saying this yatta yatta yatta BS.\"
3)Defend AB at all cost

In case you are unaware, which I am sure you aren\'t Billy cause you are here everyday, we discussed McPherson on this board before the draft EXTENSIVELY. We discussed his character issues and flaws EXTENSIVELY. We discussed what he was accused of EXTENSIVELY. We discussed his pre draft interviews EXTENSIVELY. We discussed the theft and gambling accusation EXTENSIVELY. The guy expressed remorse and apologized for the check deal, and has NEVER admitted to the gambling and was convicted on the word of an ex friend who took a deal from the state. NFL experts seemed willing ot agree he deserved a shot too. Hardly ANYONE here has heard of Fincher, and he is your hero cause peopel question the pick. When people like a pick, you have to poo-poo it. That is so transparent. At some point, people recognize your games for what they are, and it appears more and more are catching on.

His negatives remind me of someone else, almost verbatim:
Can you guess which current superstar this exact same thing was said about a few years ago?

Relies more on his athletic ability than a knowledge for the game and is still doing it all on instincts alone … Can get rid of ball quickly most of the time, but tends to have a little bit of a windup when flushed out of the pocket and when throwing to his left … His accuracy seems to be better when he is on the move and on touch throws rather than in the pocket (tends to get impatient).
Sounds like our favorite simplex Number 7!

Also sounds exactly like the knocks on McNabb when he came out.

saintwhodi --

There\'s one thing I\'m sure of. You and I see things completely different when it comes to football.

You can\'t predict what a team\'s record will be because you don\'t know who owns the team.

You think our offense made our defesne look so much worse than what it was. (Taking up for our defense by blaming the offense)

You have no problem trading away Deuce McAllister.

You think the Saints drafted Will Smith because they could see Darren Howard was washed up.

You justify our offense line being good by saying the it was better than the Rams offensive line. WTF?

I could go on and on ... but I don\'t want to.

My point is a very simple one. Some guys say they think \"leadership\" and \"character\" are the 2 most important qualities a QB can have.

But those same guys don\'t apply that for eveyone.

It makes no difference to me. Just pointing it out.

Carry on telling us how we didn\'t need offensive line help. Afterall, the Rams made it to the playoffs with a worse line than ours.

And tell us how our receivers droping passess didn\'t hurt. Afterall, the Seahawks dropped more passes.

Makes perfect sense to me. Someone else did worse so therefore we\'re okay.

I understand you, saintwhodi. A LOT more than what you think ...

I personally think he has officially paid for his mistakes. He was a 1st/2nd round talent that slipped to the 5th. Thats a lot to pay for his childish stupid behavior 4 years ago.

If he\'s still an Albert Connel we can cut him and it won\'t hurt us one bit. But if he has truly learned, then we just got a guy who MAY become a combination of Vick/Culpepper/McNabb.

At any rate it will put some pressure on AB, which has been shown to work the 4 freaking times its been tried.
Ditto

Ok, this may in part be my fault, but I\'m going to put an end to it in this thread.

Posts about other posters are not acceptable. Stop now.

Apologies for any hand I had in starting that.

I\'m not missing what you\'re saying, Danno. Personally, I like the pick.

I like athletic QBs who can makes plays with their arm and their legs.

His character is of little concern to me. If he doesn\'t work out, no big deal to me. He was drafted low. No biggie.

But some folks think that guys like that are a \"cancer\" to the team. They infect other players. That\'s what I\'ve been told.

That\'s what I\'ve been beat over the head with.

IF that is true, then it really doesn\'t make any difference what round he was drafted in. Cancer doesn\'t care what round you are drafted in. It just spreads thoughout the whole team until they slowily collapse in December!!
