Danno,

None of Vick, Culpepper, or McNabb were selected in the 5th round. So, while some things sound the same among them and McPherson, there is one key difference: teams believed that Vick, Culpepper, and McNabb would be good strongly enough to make them 1st round picks - not so for McPherson.

Don\'t get me wrong, I would love for McPherson to be our McNabb, but the evidence just isn\'t there... yet.

Posts about other posters are not acceptable. Stop now.
But some folks think that guys like that are a \"cancer\" to the team. They infect other players. That\'s what I\'ve been told.

That\'s what I\'ve been beat over the head with.

I can\'t get \'em all Whodi; I\'m workin\' on it.

That, at least, wasn\'t directed at any one person. There are several people here who think that, if it was clearly directed at you, I\'ll take further action.

Just stirring the pot Kool. I am just pissed I can\'t respond to that falsehood ridden post about me, and that we took Brown instead of DJ.

So to put all that aside, I will say again, the McPherson pick is my favorite of the whole draft. Hopefully his upside gets to show, but some feel our current QB has actually regressed, which is definitely not a good thing for McPherson\'s development.

And I\'m just pissed because there are a lot of pissed off folks on the board.

The draft was actually pretty good. If Fincher works out it could be a great one.

McPherson starts by week 10.

By the way, I\'m posting this about another poster--

I always like reading what JKool has to say.

I\'m glad you are happy with McPherson. After round 4, I usually get pretty indifferent to the picks - sure some of them turn out to be great, but they\'re not usually impact players (unless they are FBs).

I\'m glad you chose not to respond to that earlier post.

I hope McPherson turns out to be the second coming of McNabb.

I just read where this guy isn\'t accuate. Doesn\'t have good touch on his passes.

Maturity, football intelligence and his ability to quickly pick up the NFL defensive schemes are still in question.

Sounds like what you guys say about Aaron Brooks.

Just think ... if this guy ever gets on the field then we\'ll have an Adrian McPherson bashing crew.

Y\'all love dem back-up QBs ... Don\'t ya?
FSN radio when reporting this pick said that the team with aaron brooks got a guy who at best will be aaron brooks.....damn, I hate this draft.

I\'m gonna take a \"wait and see\" approach to McPherson. In the AM discussions before the draft, I wasn\'t shy about saying I was leary of him ... and I remain so. But the guy says all he wants is a shot, and I\'m willing to give it to him.

I agree that the need for a backup QB needed to be addressed, and AM was as solid a prospect as any ... especially to have gotten him in the 5th. The word \"potential\" works both ways: we got someone with tremendous potential, he could be truly great - an absolute steal - or a complete nightmare. He has the potential - even reputation - for both.

I\'ll neither applaud nor bash him until I seem him on the field in the black and gold.

Everyone knows i have always supported AB on this board, but come this time next year i think he(A-Mac) will be starting for us!!! the only reason he wasn\'t a first rd pick was because he made a mistake when he was younger!period
