His tackling skills and lateral agility make him a very interesting prospect. While some teams project him as a mid-rounder, there are very few middle linebackers in this draft with his upside. He has very good body control in the open and excellent hip snap to explode into ball carriers. His quickness to the edge lets him force the action back inside and he shows good awareness, handling the switch-off in zone coverage. In a 3-4 defense, he could be just as effective as Pittsburgh's Kendrell Bell or Baltimore's Ed Hartwell, two players that quietly go about their job but make the players around them look better.

Right now I\'m afraid he looks like Ruff pt 2.

But I\'d love to be suprised. As weak as our LBs are, we\'ll know what we\'ve got if he isn\'t in the starting lineup by week 1.

Is Courtney Watson that weak?

Watson\'s ok, pretty sure he\'s only going to be playing 1 position at any one time though. If Fincher can\'t win one of the other 2 spots, then we\'ll know what we have.

Yes I did want a PROVEN NFL stud instead of ANOTHER third round HOPE. James Allen, Sed Hodge, Cie Grant. 3rd round LBs. Add Fincher.

BMG, I gotta disagree with you on this one.

MLB is a vetran position. That is, like WR, it has a slightly longer learning curve. It is a rare guy who can come in as a rookie and excel at that position.

I really think Fincher will play SLB for us, instead of Allen. If Fincher isn\'t starting by mid-season, then I might be more inclined to agree with you.

I still don\'t like the looks of: Bockwoldt, Watson, Fincher. We need a vetran player here (or at DT) or our defense is going to be in trouble regardless of the upgrades we\'ve got in our secondary.
