Re: Saints Re-sign WR Brandon Coleman

[B]With the talent brought in, he's gone from our No. 3 to our No. 5...

WR (3) 13 - Michael Thomas, 19 - Ted Ginn, 16 - Brandon Coleman (RFA)

SR (2) 81 - Cameron Meredith (RFA 2018), 83 - Willie Snead (RFA 2018, Tendered), 80 - Austin Carr

Competition is good. The Saints still need to draft one though.

Re: Saints Re-sign WR Brandon Coleman

Hard to say. He improved minus some stupid fumbles but the blocking is on target. I think he will be in the mix at least as the 3-4. It's not like he regressed and if he cleans up the fumbling he looks no worse than 3 to me.

What I really see happening is whoever is the 3 is going to have quite a few games where they blow up with MT and Kamara with the best defenders and it really doesn't matter who it is. They will be open.

We need him for blocking as much as anything. I think we draft a WR or TE as early as possible unless we have to reach. Whichever can make an impact immediately, I don’t care which. I’m not completely sold on us having shored up a third down threat.
Either that or trade all our picks for the earliest first rounder we can get and draft a long snapper.

We got some big men at WR. We have to have one of the tallest bunch in the NFL if not the tallest. If they can stay on the field going to be fun to watch small DB's getting pushed on the ground or just run over.

Hope they resigned him awfully cheap. This is a position that needed an upgrade; should't be to hard to add/draft someone to beat him out. If not then CJ's group hasn't improved.

Why? We have receivers on the field. We have receivers on the bench. We have receivers on the practice squad.

So we're really going to spend a draft pick for a guy that'll likely be the #7 receiver?

BTW I feel exactly the same way for calls at OLine, RB and QB too. There just seems to be a lot of discussion about drafting players that are going to sitting on the bench or on the practice squad.

For the Saints, the future is now. The ideal draft pick is the BPA in an area of need. If we're talking pass rusher, or a dynamic tight end, then I can see.

Look at the roster: Thomas, Ginn, Meridith, Coleman, Snead, Carr, Dural
EDIT: I forgot Tommylee Lewis...

Who's going to be available in the 3rd round that can realistically crack the top 5/6? Why exactly would a 3rd round draft pick be more important than a pass rusher?

I really don't understand.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Coleman getting hurt, we did kinda see some offensive stalls because of it. . Good blocker and GL target. Hard to find a WR 6''6" halfway decent, not many of those.

I never thought I would miss seeing a bunch of receiver names from the draft that we could get to be better than what we have, but God rest his sole. If Hagan were still with us, he would have no less than 3 names to tell you lol.
