Making a big trade up for Marcus Davenport? Anything’s possible but it doesn’t seem to fit the recent trend of patience and drafting guys who can make an immediate impact.

Davenport may very well turn into a stud, but right now he’s a developmental prospect from a non-power 5 conference. It would be pretty risky to sell the farm for him.

Fairly certain this was satire. A late 2 or early 3 is not out of the question but he would be hard to dump IMO. A good one can be got right there so meh...probably not much value in him but worth entertaining. Browns would likely do it if they don't land Barkley. Maybe the Bills.

Last time Jeff Ireland was involved in scouting a small school DE/OLB as their #1 draft pick ... Dallas snagged a future Hall of Famer (Demarcus Ware). I simply hadn't seen enough of Davenport to have an honest opinion.

We shall see what unfolds tonight.
