At the end of year...we had a ton of guys injured on defense.

These guys were on the pre-season roster & ended up injured by the end of the regular season.
DT - Nick Fairley
DT - Mitchell Loewen
DT - David Parry
DT - John Hughes
DE - Alex Okafor
DE - Trey Hendrickson
DE - Hau'oli Kikaha
LB - AJ Klein
LB - Alex Anzalone
LB - Nate Stupar
CB - Delvin Breaux
SS - Kenny Vaccaro

The funny thing is that 2016 was even worse with injuries on defense.

If they stated our defense at its real value (#10-20), they would have to make us the best team in the league. That doesn't fit the ESPN NFL small market team narrative.

Just goes to prove you can't believe anything put our buy TV main stream sources.

Um...idk how they get their rankings or how they can project we're going to be the worst. How does that work? The defense was young last year and should be even better with some new additions this year. Weird.

It's ESPN. They're not very good at football.

Some of their notable predictions from last season's FPI index.

Saints, worst team in the NFCS. Will finish slightly ahead of the Bucs due to strength of schedule.

The Eagles would finish 3rd in the NFCE and only had a 1% chance of winning the Super Bowl.

The Rams would be the 29th ranked team in the NFL and "were not a credible threat" in the NFCW.

The Seahawks had the best shot in the NFC of making the playoffs by a long shot.

The Jaguars were ranked toward the bottom of the AFC, ahead of only the Browns and the Jets.

Of the 8 divisions, they only got 2 division winners correct, which coincidently, is exactly the same success rate you'd expect from a monkey throwing darts at a sports page. But we would have to give the monkey the edge because really, how hard is it to predict the Patriots and Steelers winning their divisions.

You have to scroll down to the section titled Rams Restocked Defense. There we are to have the #1 Offense and #32 Defense.

I'm predicting ESPN to have the worst predictions accuracy for 2018.

Hank and Seth that wrote the article are better at the excel than the football.
