I agree with you Danno. The team has the talent, but it lacks.....I don't know....more W's in the win column. I hope it all comes together this year.

And Scotty, don't get down on Danno for drinking. Most Saints fans are alcoholics, it's the only way we can try to NOT remember the 2nd half of the game. Just kiddin guys....well kind of.

Glad to be back.

Danno, good post from a personnel standpoint.

Care to comment on coaching?

Just a nitpick: the description above is inconsistency, not mediocrity. Mediocre is a consistent average or below average performance.

True - inconsistency may be a better term for AB. I agree, and I've said that for a while now. Then again, if Brooks is top 5 one week and bottom fine the next, over the long run it "averages out" to mediocre, doesn't it? :)

HC-Between Average and Below Average. But young enough to improve

DC-If its Venturi, Below Average, BUT...If the rumors are true that he's taken a back seat to Pease/Robinson/Haslett then I'd say Average to slightly above average.

OC-Hard to say. Hated McCarthy's playcalling. I'm encouraged by what I hear and read about Sheppard (and Schonert). He's taken teams with much less talent and succeeded.

Overall, I'd say above average, but only slightly. But thats only because I'm hesitant about all coaching changes. I feel better about the staff now than previous years, but thats not saying much. On a scale of 1-10 I'd say a 6. Maybe an 8 if my hopes materialize.

And here's what I hope...

1. Haz has learned from his mistakes and will improve as the head coach.

2. Pease/Robinson (or even Haz) are actually calling the gameday shots instead of Venturi.

3. Sheppard truly is a good OC who only needs a talented team to prove it. Combined with a Turk Schonert to put a foot up someones asss if they need it.

If all three materialize, we're looking at 11-5
If only two of three, 10-6
If one of three, 9-7
If all three are pipe dreams, 8-8 again.

What's our weakest position now?

My thoughts are the wide receivers. Who can catch the ball other than Joe Horn? Donte, dropsy. Henderson, lost, Gardner concrete for hands, Beerman will end his career going across the middle. Nate Poole, not. Joe is a route posession player now due to speed dwindling.

Then we have Conwell, Hilton, Williams, Meier at TE. Anybody scared yet?

I don't know why but I thought this guy Franky Lyman would help, not happening.

I wonder if Uncle Rice could help?
