Ravens receiver Willie Snead reflects on frustrating final year with Saints

I wish we still had him and Cooks

Snead's birthday was Wednesday, and although he didn't have many plans besides practice, getting a massage and spending time with his children, the Ravens gave him a little gift by telling him he'll be a captain for Sunday's game. Before the coin toss, he's hoping to congratulate Drew Brees for breaking the NFL's all-time passing yardage record as well as greet his other former teammates.

Good for you Willie Snead. Happy you landed and got paid. You made Flacco relevant again!

He's tough and he's movin the chains. Just like he did here before last season. I wish he were still a Saint.

Glad he is gone, great dude, but not worth keeping. He was awful in his last year for us, and likely due to injury but the guy couldn't get separation from anyone.

If he would have connected on that playoff pass we likely make the SB. So close.

I LOVE the part where he puts it all on him saying he made mistakes and learned not to PUT HIMSELF in that position. No blame on others. Personal accountability is a RARE attribute now days and to hear it from a younger guy in the NFL is refreshing. I have mad respect for him .
I wish we could have kept him and I bet given the frustration he voiced about the receiving corps Payton’s does too.
Hope he has a great game.
I heard Brees talking about him today and he sounded like he has a ton of respect for him. Mentioned going to him on 4th and 10 in the playoffs against Minnesota. Said that’s how much trust he HAS in him.

Agreed. Completely disappeared last season.

I posted a comparison recently showing His replacement's production in just three games compared to Snead's entire 2017 season for the Saints. Meredith already has more catches (9 to 8), more yards (114 to 92) and more TD's (one to zero) than Snead had for the full season.

As for the Raven's passing game, don't forget who was their leading receiver for 2017 ... Ben Watson.

He had lingering injury. By the time he got back in week 5 we had more of a rushing attack than anyone planned with the addition of Kamara. Everyone kind of had their place and he didn’t fit as well in the offense by this time as he had in the past. It would be nice to still have him from day one of the season. This came from Brees mouth.

Slick Willie is a classy individual but he's a Raven now.

I wish him nothing but the best ... except on Sunday.
