It makes Robinson unlikely to return this year. He's dealing with ligament damage, which is a worst case scenario. Robinson was playing well before going down, so it's a hit to the Saints' secondary. P.J. Williams will pick up Robinson's snaps. Sep 26 - 9:13 AM

Man...I missed that somehow. Must have been a nasty break.

Not sure we will be bringing anyone back from IR this year.

Good rule, but hasn't helped us yet

Re: Crawley vs Apple 2018 Stats

I would eventually move Crawley to cover the slot and Eli on the outside.

Crawley's quickness is under utilized on the outside. Eli's press ability should force QBs to hold the ball for another second.

If both hold true Dennis can blitz more hopefully resulting in pressures, sacks and ultimately turnovers

Really sucks not having PRob.

Don't you want your better tackler in the slot role? I would say PJ is the better option (sound tackler) there but then I think back to his 2 missed open field tackles vs the Ravens & subsequent holding call on 4th down .

This secondary will be tested big time on Sunday. Hopefully the game plan is to take away Thielan.

Robinson was hired to keep PJ on the bench and since his return I haven't seen much to convince me he won't be a liability as we face better QBs.

I could be very wrong but I didn't see Crawley as the sole problem. YES he gave up a lot but it seemed to be on coverage assignments where the QB had all day to throw.

IMO, Crawley does better in a position where he can shadow a #3 WR. We'll see how it unfolds vs. Minnesota but I'd be surprised to see two things:
1. Apple not starting (at least as much as he can handle)
2. PJ survive the entire game at slot WR.

My hope is our secondary allows that extra second our d line needs to pressure Cousins.

I don’t think Crawley would be good at all as a nickel CB. He doesn’t strike me as a player with great awareness who could have quick hips in traffic.

Minnesota is ranked 25th running the ball, and our run D is first.
Can def expect 35+ throws from Cousins. Need to bend not break.

You’re right about that. We don’t have someone who can excel in that role.
