List of Saints 2019 Free Agents

According to sportrac the Saints will have about 15 million in cap space before making any moves. We currently have the following 2019 free agents... and this is what they’re currently making.

Teddy Bridgewater $6,000,000

- I think we sign him.

Mark Ingram UFA $4,000,000

- We will sign him.

Manti Te'o UFA $2,500,000

- good cheap depth is hard to find.

Josh Hill UFA $2,366,667

- too valuable in the run game to give up.

Ben Watson. UFA $2,000,000

- one more year?

Michael Hoomanawanui UFA $1,700,000

Nope

Craig Robertson UFA $1,666,667

- he’s dependable depth

Chris Banjo UFA $1,300,000

- cheap special teams deal

Jermon Bushrod. UFA $1,015,000

- he’s 34 but we resign him.

PJ Williams UFA $765,228

- this will be interesting.

Tyeler Davison. UFA $624,306

- Yes we sign him.

Ken Crawley RFA $630,000

- I'd say, yes.

Wil Lutz K RFA $540,000

- he’s earned a good contract.

There are some other ones, but probably not worth keeping around.

I think we should redo some contracts also, like MT for example.

Tyeler Davison. UFA ... I'd keep, at worst solid depth.
PJ Williams UFA $765,228 ... resign. Let him battle it out at 2019 camp.
Manti Te'o UFA $2,500,000 ... resign, solid depth.
Chris Banjo UFA $1,300,000 ... keep.
Ken Crawley RFA $630,000 ... mentally, I see a guy who has checked out. Bye, bye.

Michael Hoomanawanui UFA $1,700,000 ... injury prone, bye bye.

Josh Hill UFA $2,366,667 ... IMO, he's been terrific. Keeper. Kamara don't score those TD's without Josh creating run lanes.
Mark Ingram
UFA $4,000,000 ... hell yeah but at what cost? I think there will be other suitors with deeper pockets.
Teddy Bridgewater .. I hope he remains a Saint but there are no guarantees.

If Bridgewater stays not much room for many others
We can't push things down the road to much as other will need very big deals soon.

I do wonder if the Superb owls done does Brees walk off into the sunset. I know he has said a few more years but there wouldn't be a better send off and that clears the way on a long term Bridgewater deal

We HAVE to give CGM a new deal and keep him happy. I am also in the resign MI camp. He is horribly underrated, particularly by a swath of our fan base imo. I'm just not convinced we keep Bridgewater. I want to, but I'd trade him for a CB to place opposite Lattimore without blinking.

Agree, mostly. It's hard to say if CGM's slow progress was in his knee or his head. One's fixable, the other isn't. Regarding Bridgewater, you have to consider the level of play of many QB's coming out of college these days. Gone are the days where they have to play apprentice for several years before starting. Some of these kids are stepping in and putting up big numbers, year one.

The problem the Saint's face is that so long as they keep winning, they really won't get a chance to draft a young gun. The good ones are all gone by pick # 32....if we even had a 1st round pick.

Right on, but Drew isn't done after this year. He's been asked if he'd step away, even if he won the Super Bowl this year and he said no. I don't know if he's motivated to get the TD record or if he's just not done. Either way it's a luxury to have Teddy on the team but it may be one we can't afford.

Thing is if we don't plan to keep Teddy why did they trade a fairly high pick for him when they already do not have a 1st. Seem silly paying what they did for a one year insurance plan. It's okay saying we get a comp pick but any good FA we lose that and it won't be due till 2020 either

Teddy Bridgewater question is simple - If Brees plays another season or two, let Bridgwater walk in FA and get a 3rd rd compensatory pick back; Taysom Hill will be ready to backup next year and is only getting more comfortable on the field with the creative opportunities he's been given...

Mark Ingram will be 29yo after season; offer 3 Year/24 mil/10 mil guaranteed; otherwise, let him walk, let someone overpay and take the 3rd/4th rd compensatory pick...

Tight End? Josh Hill or Ben Watson or Michael Hoomanawanui - Keep reliable Hill for veteran leadership and transition, continue to develop, bulk Dan Arnold; draft a freaking TE Sean! Let Watson, Hooman walk...

Hope Jermon Bushrod still has something in the tank because Terron Armstead's over/under per season has been 8 games; if Armstead comes back and wins a title with us, we should trade Armstead and his salary, move Ramczyk to Left Tackle, and draft a right tackle with that Armstead pick or sooner...

Really like Tyeler Davison as a rotational NT; let him go into Free Agency, develop his market, and ask for first refusal with a 10% higher offer over his best secured offer; we could've had an under-contract Damon Harrison now for a fifth round pick!!!

Linebacker? Would rather draft depth. Manti Te'o has been solid, but he'll be 28 yo next season and I'd be leary if he looks for more than a 20% increase than his $2,500,000 slot and would look at younger options for a two-down thumper; if he can live with 8mil/3year/3 mil guaranteed, re-sign him...

Craig Robertson has earned a significant raise of his $1,666,667; but will he want to stay where he can't get on the field? and he'll be 31yo next season? Can't help but feel we burned this guy and he should've been trusted as a starter with opportunity to earn more...

Reserve Safety? Playing same old record but, would've kept Natrell Jamerson over not only J.T. Gray, but Chris Banjo; again, Sean and his reluctance to keep, coach rookies hurts this team both long-term and short-term salary cap...

P.J. Williams will leave New Orleans once his rookie deal is done - he knows he's odd-man-out with the CB corps set with Lattimore, Apple, Robinson; Williams is not looking to be a 4th CB...

Ken Crawley will not be back in New Orleans...

Wil Lutz is a RFA, but is an exceptional kicker and this should be where we get him started earning big money early, but with a team discount; Offer $15.5mil/4 Yr/ $4mil guaranteed...
