Koren Robinson to be released.

AP reports WR Koren Robinson's latest off-field transgression is just the beginning of his problems. The Seahawks are expected to release the talented, but troubled, wide receiver after his arrest last month for DUI and reckless driving, and if convicted of the charges Robinson could be subject to additional disciplinary action by the NFL. Robinson pleaded not guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor charges filed in Kirkland Municipal Court and is due to appear before Judge Albert Raines on July 18. But just the arrest is enough to terminate his nine-lives existence with the Seahawks, who made Robinson the ninth pick overall in the 2001 NFL draft. "We are extremely disappointed and concerned with Koren's situation," a club spokesperson said in a statement released by the team. "We have established several programs, both league and team sponsored, to support and help him. We will continue to encourage him to use this support network and believe he should be held accountable for his actions." League policy prohibits the club from commenting on the specifics of an individual case, or the player's standing within the league's various programs. Sources, however, indicated that this is the end of the line for Robinson with the Seahawks -- especially with the emphasis being placed on acquiring high-character players since the arrival of president of football operations Tim Ruskell in February. Ruskell already has released OT Chris Terry and LB Anthony Simmons, also starters who didn't fit his profile. The earliest Robinson could be released is today.

It looks like they are picking out all the bad apples over there no matter how good they are. Their trash will definately become someone's treasure.

I was gonna make a poll about the drunk but talented Koren Robinson or the dropsy, injury prone, but fast and big reason for our playoff win Az Hakim, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. But personally, I would give drunk Koren a look before Hakim. Stipulate in his contract the violations that will make it voidable and not have us on the hook for any liability. But Koren also had the biggest drop problems of all Seattle WRs. Maybe it will take him getting cut to wake up. I would prefer neither, but if the team insists, try drunk Koren.

Not to mention his contract demands will be pretty hefty. After all, he is a consistent thousand yard receiver and ball dropper. If he could only hold on to 10 more balls every year, he would be one of the league's elite.

I don't think Robinson would be a problem in New Orleans. Being drunk and having a hard time scoring is pretty common down there.

What did he have a few beers and then drive? Isn't that legal in New Orleans? He'd be fine. LOL

Drunk or not, he's a MUCH better option than Hakim.
