I'm making two points:

1) Any actor who says that he'll give up his Oscar for a Saints Super Bowl is more than just "some actor" in my mind.

2) At least Aaron is trying. I'd much prefer to see this than, "I'm a great QB on an inconsistent team," or "I ain't got much to say to ya'll. Ya'll been talking sh!t on Aaron Brooks."

Performance-wise, this doesn't mean a damn thing, but it's better to see than a lot of alternatives that I can think of.

In the middle of the season interviews with a frustrated team are always different from a preseason interview. He has nothing to complain about right now.

To be honest, this is the one time when a player can throw in a little about himself bc most of the offseason is a personal endeavor. Discuss personal improvements, goals, etc leading into the second half talking about the team as a whole and all that stuff.

I'm just saying thats what I was interested in hearing about. They didn't ask him about that stuff, so he wasn't going to say it. Not his fault (as usual )

I will say he handled himself about as well as he could have on the A-mac topic. You could tell he was searching a little for the right words, but its hard to say something PC about that. Unless of course he said, "I'm going to work my tail off and do everything possible to be the qb of this team for years to come." you know something along the lines of i'm going to work for it, not he's not good enough. He did a good job with it though.

[quote]I thought AB did a very good job at giving Horn and Deuce credit -- thought he did a good job discussing the defense -- thought his statement that playing as a team was what led to the 4 game winning streak and thought what he said about McPherson was exactly what he should have said (although that is where you could really tell he was stretching his attitude a little). All in all one of the better interviews I have seen Aaron give -- Okay AB -- now that you have my attention make me into a Brooks believer

I agree, i thought it was a good interview. Said all the right things- Giving all the other guys props, the talk about every one playin as a team was good.
I've always support'd AB, dont think he gets credit for what he's done here, Lets face it untill AB came along we stunk at QB for years (since Hebert, to be honest.) (AB might be the best we've ever had)
The only fault i've ever had in him is when he panic's sometime's (but it kinda hard not to panic when your getting blind sided and under pressure almost every down). Saying that, i also understand he can get better. He's due to explode and be a pro bowl QB and i think he just might this year.

TR, 7-4 is just not that impressive to some people.

Didn't Hebert and Fourcade lead us to the playoffs though?

I'll go out on the limb and say this. Hobert was a good QB. Not great, but he could have been just as good as Hebert was for the Saints, if he had just stayed healthy. The Ankle ultimately did him in - but he looked pretty good to me when healthy. I never understood why Tolliver was the favorite Billy Joe.

I thought Collins would have been able to be solid for us at QB if he had time to build chemistry with the team and learn the system. He did great for the Giants and the Raiders obviously like his ability.

Blake definitely did a good job before he got hurt. He throws one of the best deep balls ever. McPherson needs time to mature and learn the system which will give Brooks time to prove himself once and for all now that he's got serious competition. With the team we're fielding this season, we should play consistently and Brooks will have time to make his reads, he should have a stellar year despite his goofy personality.

All that matters whether you hate him or like him is that he keeps his poise and makes the right decision to get the receiver the ball. As long as he does that, especially on crucial downs in crucial games, I don't care how goofy he is.

And as long as that fumble ratio stops killing scoring drives, that is. That's a pretty critical piece too.

I guess the organization decided that you can't go wrong with a BJ because they could always pull him out and put another one in. LOL
