Kool needs a recap!

Hello all!

I've been in the midst of moving... twice... and I've been out of town. As a result I haven't been able to check in on B&G, which makes me sad. (I also miss the dancing broccoli).

I know, I know, you're wondering why I'm starting this post. Well, I feel out of the loop (and my giant ego of course... ha ha 8) ). I have a couple questions that will help me get going again, and hopefully summarize where we are at for our more casual readers.

1. Who's been cut since June first?
2. Doesn't our O-Line look like it is going to totally kick butt?
3. Will the moonshiner/sunshiner debate lie down and die?
4. How has the weather been in NOLA?
5. Which B&G member has been taking the most heat in the last 3 weeks?

I think with those questions answered, I'll be ready to hit the board again!

Cheers,
J.
PS - I'm glad to be back

RE: Kool needs a recap!

Thanks for the update papz!

Ruff is the only one gone? I'm surprised by that.

Jacox! Right on, dude. I think in the long run, Holland will be the better of the two, but that just speaks to Jacox's studliness on this matter.

We got Nate Pool?

The weather sounds great! I'm sorry to hear about fishing though.

I'm not really surprised that Whodi is in the mix, but Danno has really taken to his job as resident optimist then? It sounded like he was displeased when last I was here...

Again, thanks!

RE: Kool needs a recap!

Good to see you back, JK. I hope the moving went well and I'm especially glad that we live far enough apart that you didn't ask for my help - I've moved enough of my friends in my time.

Yeah, we got Poole. He's pretty intriguing based on the reports of how good his hands are. Unfortunately, we've offered Hakim a contract, too. I don't really understand that.

i've been pretty busy myself and haven't kept up with everything so I'm sure there's more.

RE: Kool needs a recap!

Scotty, you are lucky we live too far apart!

The first time I moved, it was just me and a buddy of mine (who owed me big time). It took like 4.5 hours! The second time around, I recruited four people and an extra vehicle. It only took an hour. I'm glad I don't have very much stuff!

As for Hakim, that is odd isn't it. Perhaps Devery is all hype and nothing more? It is true that our depth needs to be good, due to Stallworth's injury history. Maybe Pool isn't as safe an acquisition as it seems?

Basically the Saints offered Troy Brown a very good deal (perhaps better than the Pats' offer?) for a player his age, but he turned us down to go to a team that had a better shot of winning a championship. I believe that's how it went down. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically yeah. The Saints offered Troy Brown $1.1 this season, and he excepted $800K to play in NE. He cited two reasons - 1 his family and 2 his desire to play on a team that could compete for a Super Bowl.

I think that makes him the second player to turn the Saints down (more money) to play in NE, and the third player to turn the Saints down to play for a "contender" this offseason. Are the Saints viewed as the Clippers of the NFL? It's starting to feel that way.
