Sad but Bold predictions.

Hope I am wrong.

But I believe we end up losing this game. I believe the team has fought and overcame plenty throughout the season but with banged up O-Line, Rankins out, and the fact the Rams is healthy minus Kupp and added Talib back into the lineup, I believe we drop this game late in the last seconds with either missed FG, them making a FG or even a TD.

Call it what it is, its just being a Saints fan for so long sets us up for something like this, but do hope we repeat like 2009.

Of course I disagree. First off the O-line isn't banged up. Everyone on the O-line had a full practice today. No lineman is currently on the injury report.

Rankins is a loss for sure. However, the D-Line has been pretty deep. More importantly, the front 7 have been playing as a consistent unit to stop the run.

I feel that many think that the Saints have no playmakers after Michael Thomas. Brees generally throws to Thomas not because he is the only option, but because he's actually open. So when the Rams make the logical play to have Talib travel with Thomas and then effectively double team him by shading a safety over the top. Brees will simply continue his progression and either drop the ball to Ginn over the top, as Peters will be covering him without safety help, dump the ball off into the flat to Kamara or Ingram, or catch the TE of the day (Josh Hill, Arnold, or even Taysom Hill) in the seams. Or when the Rams decide to drop 7 into coverage simply run the ball until they pull another safety into the box. Double teaming Thomas is going to leave other players wide open. See an example of this during the season when Brees threw 4 TDs to Carr, Smith, Arnold, and Kirkwood against the Falcons on Thanksgiving night. Double up Thomas and Kamara and Brees will simply deliver the ball to someone else.

The Saints can, and have, won by scoring 40. The Saints can, and have, won scoring only 12 points. Every facet of the Saints can play any type of ball you want to throw at them: high flying, or grind it out, or a defensive struggle. The Rams have not proven they can do that. They have to score to win. The Saints don't.

So my expectation is that the defense will come in with the mission of shutting down the run, with the secondary playing to keep plays in front of them and to tackle. Stop the run. Stop explosive plays. Make Goff actually win the game by matriculating the ball down the field and outscoring Brees.

Goff besting the Saints defense won't happen in my estimation, and I'll be in Mercedes Benz North at the SuperBowl in a couple of weeks cheering for the Saints to deliver a 2nd Lombardi.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Re: Sad but Bold predictions.

Saints are an overall better team. Rams strength is running but our run D already stopped them. Not going to be able to run over us. Golf does play bad on the road. This is the worse road game any team could ask for. Loud cement tomb. Foles is good under pressure but even he got rattled by the noise. That alone is worth a few mental mistakes.

Even without Rankins we were giving Foles some good shots. It started getting to him. Didn't sack him but good enough. 09 had a lot of that going on. No sacks but great hits on playoff QB's.

Oh the set up here is for us to lose. No doubt. Look at what they did to the cowboys. We struggled with the Eagles, or at least you will here that. Yep the set up is the Saints are out of their Element and do not have a good offense since the first eagles game

Of course we could lose. We're playing one of the best teams in the NFL.
Personally I think its almost a toss-up. If we played 10 times, the Saints would win 6 and lose 4.

I just hope this isn't one of those 4.
