I was actually getting off the plane at the same time as Sammy Knight was first arriving...
"What's that smell?" - Sammy Knight "New Orleans" - Me "It Smells like this all the time?" - Knight "Smells are much better around the restaurants, we do that to make you appreciate the food more..." - Me "Seriously?" - Knight "No, I don't know what the hell died today (He laughed), but the food is seriously better than anywhere in the country. Welcome to New Orleans." - Me My cousin who'd met up with me on the last leg of that flight called me later to say he'd sign with the Saints; then, I thought I was in better shape than he was, had no idea how great he was to become... That experience, his arrival to the NFL and his penchant for turnovers made him one of my All-Time Favorite Saints... |

And it always adds extra juice to the fandom when you get to interact and find a good human being in that short interaction down the Delta concourse as well... |
