Good question papz. But you can look at it one of two ways IMO. Are you winning and losing money, and thus asking the state to assist you in maintaining your winning ways, or are you losing, refusing to pony up the most you could to win, and asking the state to help you maintain the status quo? If I was owner of a winning organization that was losing money cause of my location, yes I would, and I would be willing to bet the state would give that help. But if I am part of an annually mediocre or losing franchise, and there have been times I have left at least 11 mil of FA money on the table cause it went straight into my pocket, hell no I would not feel right about asking the state to help me maintain this mediocre standard I am setting. IMO, if you own a team, it is your responsibility to do whatever possible to make that team prosperous, like a Jerry Jones, like a Steinbrenner, Epstein, the guy that owns the Texans. Anyone think Jerry Jones was losing money when his team went 1-15? That didn't stop him from paying for Jimmy Johnson, and paying to bring in players to help the team. Next year 7-9. Think that stopped him? Hell no, he kept right on spending. Next year Superbowl, and now one of the most popular franchises in all of sports. Anyone wonder why he was always so hands on? He built the team. The city of Arlington put forth a vote to build a new stadium for this franchsie with a rich history with their own tax money, and it passed overwhelmingly. Cause they know Jerry is committed to building a winner again. Does anyone see that here? It seems to be getting better, but most fans are at the point of show me the goods, not tell me the goods are there and then deliver less.
