NFLNew Orleans Saints expected to re-sign Teddy Bridgewater
It looks like Teddy Bridgewater won’t be moving on to another team to become a starter after all.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bridgewater is expected to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints to remain Drew Brees’ backup. Bridgewater made five appearances and started one game for the Saints this past season, completing 14 of his 23 passes for 181 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Louisville, was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (32nd pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. more here |

Interesting. I was sure he wanted to go somewhere to start. I wonder what kind of deal they're striking up. And how long of a contract...

I was looking forward to seeing him go. This man is not the answer to replace Drew. If we could get a pick for him I say use that to draft a young quarterback and develop him. I hope what they say about don't believe everything you read to be true.

So....Drew just wants to play one more year? I can't see us tying up that much money to a back up for a couple of years. Drew may have decided that he is looking at retirement(God I hope not) and we think TB is the future. I like him but I'm not so sure he is the heir apparent.

You won't get a heir for Brees
The best best is to have a man that can step in a run a offense. Without that expect years in the netherworld and the better players walking. Unless you luck into having franchise QB coming out the year after you tank cause you have no QB you likely are not getting one. How often do franchise level QBs hit the market? |

If no one is coming after him, what does that tell you about what "insiders" really think of him...
It's like us going after Belichick's cast-offs - don't do it, and definitely don't overpay for him... |
