Solution: And in the 7th round, the New Orleans Saints select Wisconsin Fullback Alec Ingold...

C (2) 62 - Nick Easton (FA 2019), 63 - Cameron Tom (ERFA 2019)

All eyes on these two ^^ ^^ at camp. Mastery of the Saints playbook is paramount. Max Unger made it look easy at times.

Neither on of those guys give me great confidence as anything beyond spot starters, utility linemen; and I'd feel that way if it was Brian de la Puente and not Max Unger who'd just retired...

According to my readings, Nick excels at zone (what the Saints do) and pass blocking. The guy isn't going to "wreck shop", but neither did Unger.

Max was a very intelligent player throughout his career & mentally tough. Nick went to Harvard ... so there's that. Guess the jury is still out on toughness & we shall find out soon. IIRC Max had injury concerns right before being traded to NO.

Gotta believe the coaches did their due diligence on Easton.

To be continued ...

Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

My concerns with Easton begin with his recent injury history; also, have a great deal of respect for Mike Zimmer and his player assessment skills - and he let this guy go? That's some insight into my stmt...
