I know he is on the PS bulking up for OL duty. He may not even make the team at OL this year. Shouldn't we at least try him as a TE seeing what we have at the position? If we are going less vertical in the passing game then his speed becomes less of a factor as he could essentially box out a linebacker or, at minimum, require he be covered to open other receivers.

The average height of a linebacker is just over 6 feet. He has a 10" height advantage and about 40 pounds of mass.

How do we do what we do with Hill and not try something with Woz?

We tried him at TE already, and we determined he moved more like a Right Tackle than a Tight End; he just didn't have the movement skill-set to be a Tight End...

That's not to say we can't bring him along as we did with Zach Strief and develop him as our RT, put him in Jumbo sub-packages that'd make him a tackle-eligible...

That's a plan I'd be a big proponent of seeing the team execute...

Put Taysom in as TE and be done with it.

I still have my fingers crossed hoping for Cook. We desperately need a release valve for Drew to check down to besides Kamara. If Watson had been on the field then the Rams might not have been embarrassed in the Super bowl and we could have another Lombardi.

In an emergency situation, all day every day.

Taysom got us out of some bad spots several times last year. Just a damn good football player willing to do whatever to help his team win.

I think there's a limit to how much Hill can process at once. QB alone is tremendous. You all have made some very valid points and I understand he can't play the traditional TE position like Watson. I still want to see Woz give it a go. He doesn't need to move very well, he needs to get to a certain point at a certain time and box out/jump ball the pass like a center in basketball. He'd draw coverage every time.

true, but Teddy re-upping pretty much means Hill is not the heir apparent, so he can focus on other areas. Hill will be 29 when the year starts.

Not saying he's the answer at TE either, but for his 2-3 snaps per game at QB he usually only has two reads

Maybe not. I’m not saying Hill is the answer at QB but I’m equally as unsure about Teddy. He could be a wild card Payton is keeping in his pocket as a commodity.

Re: TE situation and Nate Wozniak

Hill will be 29!!!?? That's entirely too old to be a QB!!
Only Brees, Brady, Favre, Flutie, Moon, DeBerg, Morrall, Testaverde, Brunell and Blanda can be a QB in their 40's!!
