Is this Brooks year?

OK, Brooks has shown flashes of greatness but has also shown there is no QB in history better at throwing an INT in the redzone or fumbling the ball at crucial points in a game. Everyone has hoped that he would be the savior but it hasn't worked out that way.

So is this the year that Brooks will be demoted or traded if they don't make the playoffs?

Just food for thought fellas! Remember we were having this same discussion last year about Haz getting fired if he did'nt make the playoffs and that did'nt work out too well for us either.

RE: Is this Brooks year?

Maybe it's the year he steps up and produces. Regardless which way he swings, I think this will be the year a decision is made. He now will have the line, a simpler O scheme, and hopefully will not be hindered by constant 1st and longs.

AMac's dev will also play a role. If at the end of the season, Brooks displayed about the same productivity with the same number of mistakes AND Amac has progressed more than expected, we will drop Brooks. Any improvement by Brooks comboed with AMac having avg development, and I think we hang on to Brooks.

Best case senario, Brooks does well and allows Amac time to mature over the next couple seasons, and we see a smooth transition into our future. Talk about optimism, whew.

Is this Brooks' year? For his sake.... it better be!!!!!!

AllSaints 06-18-2005 07:30 PM

Brooks BETTER have a good great year if not every thing is gunna be horrible and we will lose the saints.

jnormand 06-18-2005 09:32 PM

I think Brooks will have a good season. The guy has put up pretty good numbers almost every year he has been here. It's his lack of leadership and stupid mistakes that make fans crazy. If were only a question of production, I don't think fans would have such a problem with the guy. I know he probably feels a little more pressure to produce this year than in years past. He has all the tools and all the weapons to have a great season, it's wether or not he can step up. I think Brooks will have a good season.

AllSaints 06-19-2005 12:08 AM

We are gunna have to have brooks for only one thing to hand off to Deuce muhahahahaha

dberce1 06-19-2005 07:49 AM

I bet if you go back exactly one year, there will be another post that reads "is this Brooks year?". After that, go back another year, and there will be another one as well.....get it?

jnormand 06-19-2005 01:22 PM

Good point Dberce.

spkb25 06-19-2005 03:37 PM

if our o line is much improved and we can run the ball wiht authority he could have a very good year.

CheramieIII 06-19-2005 06:37 PM

and what would be the point of your post D? I was asking a question to envoke a conversation!

WhoDat 06-20-2005 10:06 AM

Read into his answer...

Don't want to put words in the guy's mouth, but I assume he means his answer is "No." If year after year people are asking if Brooks will step it up this year, and you ask the same question, and he references all the other times the question has been asked, it might mean that he is not confident in things changing.

I bet this question will be asked next season too. :)

CheramieIII 06-20-2005 02:48 PM

alrighty then

I know III, I was just picking man. I've always pulled for Brooks to make things right around NO. I'd be all for a probowl year for Aaron. I was just saying it seems like every year, the question of "is this going to be Brooks year" comes up. Eventually he needs to be held accountable if he can't perform.

CheramieIII 06-20-2005 04:59 PM

Thanks for the clarification D.

AllSaints 06-20-2005 07:21 PM

The question does come up every year and every one said aww this is the year yep for sure. if or when the year comes for brooks ... i have nuthing to put...............

blackwidows 06-21-2005 01:46 PM

Tony Banks I think has more fumbles and interceptions than Aaron Brooks does in theredzone. 11 fumbles last year for Aaron Brooks though thats just rediculous for one season. I think Tony Banks Fumbles more than Aaron Brooks. When Tony Banks starts. I'm not even sure Tony Banks is in the league anymorethough?

lynwood 06-21-2005 01:55 PM

Yeah, Tony Banks does sound cool to say...Tony Banks, Tony Banks, :P

4saintspirit 06-21-2005 01:55 PM

Every year I am optimistic about Brooks -- and every year he lets me down -- Statistically he does alright but never seems to gain the football knowledge necessary to make it to the next level. All the physical talent is there but I personally question his heart and intelligence -- And of course once again the coaches are touting his offseason work -- about how he is stepping up etc. Bottom line is that everyone knows this is Brooks' last chance as a Saint -- if he remains inconsistent this year he is gone --

That said -- I think this is his year -- matter of fact I honestly believe this is the year for the Saints -

blackwidows 06-21-2005 02:03 PM

anyhow I have to correct myself Aaron Brooks had 13 fubles last year 2 of them where not recovered bye the team they where recovered bye the opponent. Ibet the bucs made Aaron Brooks fumble aleast 3 times a game. Atleast in one game against the Bucs last year Brooks fumbled 3 times in just one game vs the bucs.

WhoDat 06-21-2005 02:32 PM

Wow. The Bucs should sign Tony Banks.

blackwidows 06-21-2005 03:23 PM

Yeah the bucs should sighn Tony Babks than the Bucs would be easier to beat. The Saints already are the Bucs nemesis though. The Bucs are the Saints BYOTCHES. The Saints pimp the bucs like there prostitutes. The Bucs are the Saints little girls. They can't beat dady Saints hardly ever. Bye the way the Bucs are yet to sweep the Saints since joining the nfc south in 2002. Yes it has only been 3 years since the Bucs joined the Nfc south. The thing that still pisses me off is in 2002 the Saints sweeped the Bucs but the Bucs won superbowl 2003.
