Top plays of the mini camp

Quote:

TOP PLAYS OF THE WEEKEND: In the morning session on Friday, WR Michael Lewis hauled in a long pass from QB Aaron Brooks...TE Ernie Conwell looked strong after bringing in a couple of passes on the first team offense.

In the afternoon, RB Aaron Stecker scampered through the defense after taking a dump-off pass...WR Nate Poole ran down a long pass from QB Todd Bouman...CB Fred Booker bowled over WR Keron Henry to break up a pass...WR Chris Vance made an acrobatic catch in the end zone for a score...CB Jason Craft had an interception...Poole had a sliding catch in the end zone...Poole took a reverse handoff from RB Antowain Smith and went around right end for a decent gain...QB Adrian McPherson made a nifty move to get out of trouble...RB Deuce McAllister showed good hands on a swing pass from Brooks.
Saturday, McAllister showed his speed in run drills&Brooks rolled out of pressure and found WR Donte' Stallworth downfield for a long gain...rookie S Josh Bullocks intercepted a pass.

You guys better watch Poole. He might be nice. But a swing pass from Aaron? Can this lead us to a successful screen call? Dare I dream?

I'm telling you - Poole will be the #3 WR by the end of the year, and a good one at that. I said it in the other thread, and I'll say it here too! :)

saintswhodi 06-20-2005 03:26 PM

Hey pal, I said it too, from day one, glory hog.

By the way, interesting PM from your buddy BC. Seems to think you followed him to SR, and he is the reason for their growth. Needless to say he got roundly cussed out, but just passing the info.

WhoDat 06-20-2005 03:42 PM

LOL.

Thanks for looking out fo a brotha. That guy is just nuts. He's a lot of fun to argue with, but I think he needs to seek professional help. :)

Did you get my PM response by accident? LMAO. That's exactly what I told him, along with many other things that would send the censors of this forum reeling. Felt good to get it off my chest, and rep B&G. I got your back bro, and this forum's.

Uh.hmmm
I think I was actually the first to be ridiculed with that statement.
A faster Willie Jackson, if I remember correctly, and I do.
LOL

Willie Jackson was great. Did I ever mention that I got his autograph - about 2 or 3 hours after he caught the winning touchdown in that playoff game over the Rams?

It's on a Mike Andersons card. He was out celebrating with his family after the game.

I think we all figured Poole was going to be our 3rd. I mean no one else can catch the ball consistently.

ACTUALLY, Poole's signing was announced May 18th, and I was the FIRST to say I liked Poole in the thread announcing his signing, that day. Then, in a thread started on the 19th, I was the first to give the guy props, saying that if Henderson and Stallworth experience more of the injuries that they've had, Poole could be the number 2 WR on the team.

Nanny, nanny poo poo. I had a Poole man-crush before you did. I'm the fan club president!! :) LOL

saintswhodi 06-21-2005 09:45 AM

BULL!!! Let me do some digging, i'll be right back with you. (This offseason really is too slow, lol).

saintswhodi 06-21-2005 09:50 AM

AHA!! In the second link you posted, I gave Poole props before you did. you should remove that one chump. In the other thread, you just got to it before me. Please. Gives you no rights to head the fan club, unless he busts, then it's all yours. :D

I think poole will be good for the team and if Hakim is dropping the ball, may be #3wr, but what makes yall feel soo strongly about him? just curious bc all i know about his past are the stats i saw. are you just pumped for someone who's bio doesn't read quick feet poor hands???

saintswhodi 06-21-2005 10:23 AM

I saw Poole play a couple of times, and he has hands like sticky taffy. He makes tough catches. He is not a burner, but we don't need more of those. We need players who can go into traffic and catch the ball, and he can. Plus that catch he made to knock Minny out the playoffs. He is young, and seems to run decent routes. In other words, he seemed to immediately be better than any 4th guy we had, and could challenge for 3 depending on Devery.

mayoj 06-21-2005 10:30 AM

Gotcha

WhoDat 06-21-2005 11:26 AM

Exactly Whodi.... agreed.

I'm not sure what's not to like about Poole. He's young (I think he's entering his 4th year), and he's pretty big. I think he's 6-2 and 210 or something like that - which isn't huge for NFL standards, but compared to Horn, Stallworth, Henderson, Lewis, etc. he's a freaking giant. He's also from Marshall, where they've produced some pretty decent WRs in past years. I agree with Whodi that my memory of the guy is that he has good hands, and while Devery, Henderson, and Lewis are all basically the same type of player, and Horn is a smaller WR, Poole presents a big physical target, which the Saints haven't had.
