Manning not in football follies, I beg to differ he is in some of the greatest of all time and I have yet to see Brooks in that one... for the year sure but not all time. although he is a member of the River City Relay.

Don't get me wrong I love Manning, childhood hero even but ya gotta give Brooks a break.

I dsiagree about all of the years -- because we should only compare the 2 for the same time -- I mean Archie played for awhile at the end of his career -== If Brooks lasts that long then we can compare forever -- As for football follies -- you are going to have to agree that Brooks and his backward pass is going to stay on the all time folly list forever -- and i would like the example of Archie on the all time one. As for giving Brooks a break -- I am not really against him -- I am just tired of no criticism being allowed to be thrown his way without being called a Brooks Basher, a racist, etc. For the record -- AB has all of the physical tools and talent to be a great QB for a long time -- But until he learns traits called teamwork, leadership, consistency he is always going to be a middle of the pack QB --

manning was also on some of the worst saints teams in history. most of the time he was pretty much playing by himself b/c he was all we had

AB has Joe, Donte' and Deuce and he had Pathon, who i admit, will be missed.

They are only bad because they didn't win... lol. There was some good talent on those teams from time to time. You're going to have bad years and good years. Many like to but all the blame on the QB... If they lose its the QB if they win its because of everything else and not the QB.

The day AB becomes 1/2 the quarterback Archie is we will be in the superbowl. Stats can be used for anything === Brooks top 10 in turnovers every year he has been in the league -- If you want to talk about yards and stats then talk about how many passes thrown in the same conversation -- talk about yards per game --

And the year there was talent on the team Archie was NFL offensive MVP, the Saints sent 5 players to the pro-bowl (4 of them on the offense) they the league in yards per game and points per game.

Jeff Blake. Has AB led us to any playoff games since he left? I bet Manning would have liked for someone to give him a 7-3 head start on the season so he could finish 3-3 and still get into the postseason.

Okay -- so AB took over a 7-3 team -- limped into the playoffs by going 3-3 and then won 1 playoff game (wildcard) -- The very next year he regressed to 9-7, and keeps getting worse every year -- (kinda makes you think it was more Blake than Brooks) -- but in any case these amazing feats make him the best Saints QB of all time -- that makes him a top 5 Qb in the league -- PLEASE ===

But I will put another spin on it -- AB has only won 1 playoff game making him better than Archie who won 0. That means anyone and everyone who has won more than 1 playoff game is better than Brooks. Want to go down that road son. Lets see using your own logic --- name the starting QBs last year that Brooks was better than ---

Indeed they did limp into the playoffs, but Brooks was the QB on the only Saints team to win a playoff game. He and the offense were up big on the Rams and the defense let 'em back in it. Yes, the defense let the Rams back in that game. Can't blame the offense for that one.

Oh, and "HE" didn't regress to 9-7, the TEAM regressed to 9-7.

True -- I was only responding to the fact that some are saying because AB won the only playoff game for the Saints that makes him the best Saints QB ever -- so I repeat -- AB = 1, Archie = 0 makes AB better -- than if QB x > 1 playoffwins = better QB than AB. Basically that makes almost every QB that has ever played in the history of the NFL (except for Saints QBs) better than AB. I just find that a ridiculous argument --

saintswhodi 07-21-2005 04:02 PM

Can't blame the defense for not being able to hold the Greatest Show on Turf defending Superbowl Champion Rams a whole game either. Not many teams were able to do that. They weren't called the greatest show on turf cause they performed tricks on their motorbikes.
