Congratulations, Dallas Cowboys fans: you’re exactly as good as you think you are.

Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business has released its latest NFL Fandom Report, ranking the relative fan strengths of the 32 NFL franchises, and once again, the Cowboys lead the pack. Right behind them: the Patriots, Eagles, Giants and Steelers.

Sure the Cows have a storied/winning history, a couple of legendary coaches, lucrative/marketable franchise (worth Billion$) ...absolutely, but best fans? Hell naw.

All they do up this way is dwell on Super Bowls from 20+ years ago.

Once the losing starts, they scatter & hide as always.

Compare the size of our city compared to others, it is amazing that the Superdome even sells out at the price of today's tickets.

Shouldn't be a surprise that the top 10 is filled with teams who have multiple SB wins. Bandwagons follow... The 49ers have been a joke for the better part of the last 20 years, but they still have their bandwagon from the Montana/Young years.

I've traveled a lot of states and seem to always find Packers, Steelers and Cowboys fans abound. I even have found Broncos fans all the way in Alabama.

I'll give Pats fans a break (their real fans that is, not the recent bandwagon hoppers). Of all the teams fan bases I've hung out on forums and met in person, Pats fans are easily the most tolerable and most respectful towards me as a Saints fan. All you have to do is ignore the "Brady is the GOAT" and the Roger Goodell conspiracy theories (you'd think our fan base would go easy on them cause they hate Goodell like us), and they are actually fun to chat football with. Their old time fans can be cool as hell; they did suffer a humiliating SB loss in the 80's and another in the 90's. Their dynasty is still new in comparison to Pittsburgh and Dallas' history.

A couple of my friends from TX are Cowboys fans. These guys are old and got to witness that dynasty when it actually happened. They absolutely hate Jerry Jones and his red headed puppet of a head coach. These guys wanted them to tank so bad in hopes of Garrett getting fired. They weren't happy with a playoff win this year cause it means they're still stuck with Garrett.

There's an entire generation now of Cowboys fans who have never even witnessed the team reach the NFC title game. Bragging about rings they were either too young to fully remember or weren't even born yet.

The funniest part for me with Dallas is that they actually have drafted well in the past 15 years and have had multiple opportunities to put together a SB contending team. But Jerrah always finds a way to screw it up. Demarcus Ware got his ring in Denver and he played like a man possessed in their playoff run. He'd probably be a first ballot Hall of Famer had Dallas reached a SB with him on the roster.

Jason Taylor (same position) played on some very average teams down in Miami and didn't sniff a SB yet he went in 1st ballot. I'd be shocked if Demarcus isn't a 1st ballot HOF selection when he becomes eligible.

Agree. All around the country I get approached by people when wearing a Saint's logo. Other than ATL (and possibly MN) they all think highly of the organization. At last season's game here in Cinci, we ran into Saint's fans that had no affiliation with NO, LA, Brees etc. Some families drove over six hours. For some reason, they just loved the Saints.

I think Brees' too short, too injured as well as the Katrina recovery, small market story draws attention and has made the Saints "The" underdog of the NFL. People who tend to pull for the underdog are drawn to the Saints.
